Shabbat Shalom!

Dear Shir Chadash community,

Our fourth Shabbat at home, and it is nearly Pesach. This week is Shabbat HaGadol - traditionally the Shabbat when rabbis would give one of their two longest sermons of the year! I have tried to put the equivalent energy into preparing for a virtual Pesach - you’ll find a new email about that below.

I’ve been noticing how the community has been keeping in touch. As Pesach approaches, please continue to reach out to each other. A personal call has incalculable value.

I’m also hoping that the fact we don’t stream a service on Shabbat mornings is one way of giving ourselves a break from our screens at the moment. Please try setting the computer aside, even for a few hours. I promise that everything will still be there when we get back online after Shabbat.

I am thinking of all of you. Have a peaceful Shabbat and I hope I’ll see you at our virtual services and my virtual pre-Pesach open house on April 8th!

We will be holding daily services on Thursday mornings at 8 AM and a Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday nights at 6:15 PM.

Here is our Shabbat playlist from last week to get you in the mood.

For our younger members, here is the Shir Chadash Youtube page, where you can spend some time with Miss Meryl and the Shabbat dinosaur!

If you want to begin getting in the mood for Pesach, PJ Library has a lovely version of the story HERE .
Once again, we will be streaming our Community Havdalah. This week it will be at 8:30 pm.
