Dear Shir Chadash community,
Our fourth Shabbat at home, and it is nearly Pesach. This week is Shabbat HaGadol - traditionally the Shabbat when rabbis would give one of their two longest sermons of the year! I have tried to put the equivalent energy into preparing for a virtual Pesach - you’ll find a new email about that below.
I’ve been noticing how the community has been keeping in touch. As Pesach approaches, please continue to reach out to each other. A personal call has incalculable value.
I’m also hoping that the fact we don’t stream a service on Shabbat mornings is one way of giving ourselves a break from our screens at the moment. Please try setting the computer aside, even for a few hours. I promise that everything will still be there when we get back online after Shabbat.
I am thinking of all of you. Have a peaceful Shabbat and I hope I’ll see you at our virtual services and my
virtual pre-Pesach open house
on April 8th!
