It is with mixed emotions that I announce that our Assistant Scout Executive, Tom Labayewski has been promoted to Assistant Scout Executive of the Laurel Highlands Council, Pittsburgh PA. Tom will begin his new assignment on August 1, 2022.
Tom began his Scouting career in November of 1995 with the Land of the Oneidas Council as a District Executive. He was promoted to a Senior District Executive and then to a District Director. Tom earned a promotion with the Revolutionary Trails Council to Program Director overseeing programs, operations, and managing three year-round camp facilities. He also served as a Field Director before taking a short leave from the council to serve as the Executive Director of the Peter Maurin House, aka “Hope House.”
In 2015, he was recruited back to the Revolutionary Trails Council by then Council President, Bill Kline as Program Director and then Field Director, and now Assistant Scout Executive.
Tom also currently serves as a Scoutmaster for Troop 44G in Clark Mills.
Tom and his wife Kim, have two Eagle Scout children named TJ and Sydney.
The Leatherstocking Council would like to thank Tom for the many great years of service to our council and the youth of our communities.
Please join me in congratulating Tom as he joins in partnership with the volunteers and staff of the Laurel Highlands Council to deliver quality Scouting experiences to the young people of the communities they serve.
