Zach's Place kids visited Bob Penkhus Motors recently to personally thank them for their $1,000 donation to help support SKSF programs.  SKSF operates seven wheelchair accessible buses providing valuable transportation within our community for individuals participating in our programs.  These funds will be used to help maintain our buses - to purchase parts, fuel, tires, and maintenance. We thank everyone at Bob Penkus Motors for their generosity!

Earlier this month, we were honored to have been visited by the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Station #9, at our Adult Services facility, located at 3450 N Nevada Avenue. They spoke with the adult program participants about safety and they were able to check out the firetruck and lights.  What a great experience for all - thanks so much for coming out!

Adult program participants had the opportunity to visit Dion's Pizza (located at  6385 Source Center Point, Colorado Springs)  where they were shown how to make pizza. They also received pizza, a drink and a Dion's t-shirt. They all had a great time and the staff at Dion's were great to our clients.

Thanks for making this a special day!

Our adult program participants accomplished filling the 'Task Master's' jar! When a daily task is completed (for example; watering plants, doing laundry, cleaning tables) a bead is obtained. To congratulate everyone on their success, we held a Luau Party to celebrate their achievement. Festivities included making fruit kabobs, Hawaiian pizza, and watching the movie Moana.

The large volunteer group shown above was from Evangelical Christian Academy. They volunteered their time at Zach's Place organizing toys, cleaning windows, walls, tables, chairs. They also weeded the grounds and did yard work. We appreciate their hard work and dedication!  Thanks for your help!

USAFA cadets (Cadet Squadron 3 "Dogs of War") visited our Adult Services facility and assisted us in placing labels on thousands of envelopes for our upcoming Night of Comedy event.  They also helped move furniture cleaning underneath, cleaning all the walls, bathrooms, tables, chairs and sanitizing the furniture. They were such great ladies and gentlemen - very respectful, helpful and polite.  Thank you for your generosity and helping make our facilities "shine"!!
