Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope this finds you well and safe. Below you will find two updates about reinstated ferry service to Boston Logan Airport on the Hingham/Hull line and an opportunity for public engagement with the MBTA's newly released Capital Improvement Plan.

Thank you all for your advocacy to maintain ferry service during the pandemic. Ferry service is a vital lifeline between the South Shore and Boston. As we move closer to summer, ferry ridership continues to build back, as well as ridership on other modes of public transit. We will continue to push the MBTA to get us back to full service.

Please also note that the MBTA recently released its Capital Improvement Plan. The plan is currently under review, and the MBTA seeks public input until April 25, 2022. More information can be found below.

Public Comment Period on MBTA Capital Investment Plan Open Through April 25, 2022

The MBTA Capital Investment Plan (CIP) is a rolling, five-year investment program that funds the planning, construction, and capital maintenance of assets across the transit system.

As part of a series of public meetings, the MBTA is holding a public meeting on the CIP on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 7 PM. At this meeting, the MBTA will provide an overview of the proposed FY 2023 – 2027 MBTA CIP and discuss some key capital projects. Attendees will also have the opportunity to provide comments on the proposed CIP. You can register to attend the meeting by clicking this link, or visiting mbta.org/events. If you have questions or need help registering, please email publicengagement@mbta.com.

Comments on the CIP may also be submitted outside of the meeting. All comments must be received by April 25th, and they can be emailed to cipengagement@mbta.com.
