Behind the Scenes

CCDO has a small team of international volunteers who generously give of their time, energy and expertise. Besides our highly committed board members we are thankful for:

Gary Anglin

For the past 15 years, Gary of Trinex Internet Solutions (based in Victoria Island, Canada), has generously hosted the CCDO website and periodically helped with fresh new looks and designs and regular changes and updates. Gary is assisted by George Goodman, who helps to keep our website current.

Recently, our VP, Ksenija Olmer, was on a road trip to Canada and was delighted to finally meet Gary and his family in person.

Thanks for all you do for CCDO.

Our multi-media creative genius, Brian Bibi of Studio3B (living in The Netherlands) first stepped into CCDO world in Cambodia about 8 years ago. He has become invaluable in putting together our monthly newsletter. His creative and elaborate ‘Christmas tree’ newsletter is sensational with a different theme each year. We are so proud to have him on our team.

The latest newcomer to our volunteer team is SEO expert Rachel Thong (from Singapore but living on Koh Samui.) She has been diligently adding Facebook and Instagram posts to update our donors on what is happening in Siem Reap. Thank you, Rachel, for making an impact.

Digital Literacy

A huge shout out to Bastion Foundation who have sponsored our Digital Literacy program. We are so proud of our Digital Literacy Team who have been consistently visiting over 100 schools to teach digital literacy to principals and teachers. The government gave principals computers but no training on how to use them. Our team, Chan Tour and Bunchhern, have developed a comprehensive program of how to best use MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Telegram and set up emails, so that they can create attendance records and flashcards, and communicate with each other effectively. It is the most popular class on the schedule and is very effectively bringing Cambodian educators into the 21st century.

Preschool Supplies and Toys

While basic school supplies are available in Cambodia it is impossible to find good quality toys to equip our rural community preschools. Anytime people visit us from abroad with spare room in their luggage we ask them to collect used supplies and bring them along. Be it Legos, board books, or educational toys, they bring so much joy and learning opportunities to Cambodian children.

After Covid travel pause our CCDO founder and President, Jenni and VP Ksenija will spend 10 days in January on the ground in Cambodia. Two local preschools in California are collecting used toys and supplies to be sorted, packed and distributed to Cambodia. Preschool teachers and kids can't wait.

Donors

A special thanks to longtime donors Pete & Mary Jo Farrell who donated $2,000 for CCDO to use where needed.

Thanks for your continued support to help many Cambodians.

“In this world of sheisters and con-men, it feels wonderful to be able to help out groups that actually do what they say they will with your donations. And the recipients appear to be real people and have real appreciation for the help you provide. Thank you for seeing the need and creating the means to change so many people's lives. Blessings to you and your entire staff!” ~ Peter Farrell
