Knitting friends,
I'm pretty pleased with the results of knitting on the Summer Waves Shawl this spring. Our niece's wedding was outdoors with an indoor sit down dinner and dance last Saturday at a really cool art gallery in downtown Memphis, TN.
I paired a Zuri print sleeveless dress in black and cream with a turquoise glass bead bracelet and turquoise (real stones) ring.
The shawl was the perfect complement and was a warm accent for the later hours of the evening.
Read our March 28 email for details about knitting the Summer Waves Shawl using HiKoo Simplicity. The email has links to the pattern, yarn color hints, knitting hints, and more. I used the color Deep Turquoise.

My dress is from Zuri -- fashioned with prints from Kenya.

Glass artist Kari Haybrock did the bracelet which is a birthday gift from my spouse. Kari works out of Kansas City and has a wide range of excellent and colorful jewelry.

Gosh, it is sweet to pull together a special look for a wedding!
Happy knitting,
Wanda
PS I used all of 6 skeins of Simplicity and might rip back the bind off edge since I have a 7th skein I can add in.
PPS This yarn is $6 per skein. That's a great price for a summer knitting project that takes 6 to 7 skeins!
