In anticipation of the predicted forecast, please review Fairfax County's Guide to Snow. The guide has street snow removal resources, a link for the County's operating status, snow shoveling tips, and more.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) owns and maintains most roads in Fairfax County and is responsible for plowing during winter weather events. VDOT crews will be mobilizing tonight. As a reminder, VDOT can only begin plowing after two or more inches of snow have fallen, so their response will be dependent on how much accumulation we receive. You can visit VDOT's Winter Weather page for tips, information, and answers to frequently asked questions. To submit a request to VDOT, you can visit my.vdot.virginia.gov or call (800) FOR-ROAD (367-7623).
Our office is also here for you to connect you to resources and help, so please reach out if we can be of service. Stay safe!
Yours in service,
