The first bridge build—Stoney Creek—is underway!

Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) and Lutheran Disaster Response Carolinas (LDRC) are partnering to fund and build bridges in Western North Carolina—and the first bridge build began this morning.

Many families need bridges to cross small creeks between the state-maintained road and their homes. There are estimated to be over 5,000 of these private bridges that need to be replaced because of Hurricane Helene.

The resources below were created to help your congregation learn about this Bridging Together project, engage a scriptural imagination for the project, invite prayers, and take a special offering.

You can help with this exciting project! Explore, donate, volunteer, and use these valuable resources to spark meaningful conversations and engagement in your congregation. Watch this bridge-building journey as it progresses on the Bridging Together webpage.
