Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez has ordered that starting today, Monday, March 16, 2020, all bars and clubs in Miami-Dade County close their doors by 11 p.m. each evening. Restaurants must close their dining rooms by 11 p.m., but restaurant kitchens may remain open for takeout and delivery.

In addition, all bars, clubs, restaurants, and movie theaters in Miami-Dade County are ordered to cut their capacity by 50 percent, up to a maximum of 250 patrons at a time, regardless of original capacity. This will facilitate the practice of “social distancing,” which is defined as leaving about six feet of space between persons.

As such, the City of Coral Gables will be enforcing the County Mayor’s orders as they apply to all of Miami-Dade County. Coral Gables is working with its businesses and community stakeholders to keep everyone informed on any new developments.

All City essential services remain operational. The City of Coral Gables continues to monitor the development of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will be providing updates as needed.
