Palmetto Bay, FL -- A record-breaking crowd of 7,000 revelers enjoyed a spectacular July 4th evening of rides, music, fun and good old-fashioned patriotism at Palmetto Bay Village Hall.
"We thank everyone who came and enjoyed the fun, especially our sponsors who gave us tremendous help in making this an amazing night," said Palmetto Bay Mayor Karyn Cunningham. "It was also the perfect platform to recognize two hometown heroes who are currently serving overseas; U.S. Army Captain Josh Underwood, and Airman Eric Stern of the U.S. Air Force. It was an honor to publicly recognize them and stand side-by-side with their families."
We also thank all of our friends who joined us onstage; "Mayor for a Day" Natalia Quick, Cutler Bay Mayor Tim Meerbot and Council, Florida Representative Vance Aloupis, State Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez, State Representative Javier Fernandez, Miami-Dade District 8 Councilwoman Daniella Levine-Cava, and School Board Member District 9 Dr. Larry Feldman. Along with Mayor Cunningham and Council, they presented former Palmetto Bay Mayor Shelley Stanczyk with a proclamation, thanking her for founding this event in 2014.
