May 23, 2025

Enjoy a summer concert inside historic Fort Macon. A variety of tunes including pop, patriotic music, and more will be played. You may bring folding chairs, blankets, bug spray, food and drinks. Alcohol and pets are not allowed. 6:30 - 8 pm.

Carteret County Arts and Crafts Show & Sale May 24-25, 2025

Two-day Juried sale of arts and crafts of coastal artisans. Free, family-friendly, and held at the historic site, the Carteret County Arts & Crafts Coalition’s Memorial Day Show and Sale is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday weekend! Held at the Beaufort Historic Site 10 am - 5 pm.

Cannon Day

May 24, 2025

Learn how the different cannons of the fort were loaded, aimed, and shot at Fort Macon. Cannon firings held at 10:30 a.m.; 11:30 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.; 2:30 p.m.; and 3:30 p.m.

Small Arms Demonstration 

May 25, 2025

Come out to the fort's parade ground at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. to learn about one of the small arms (musket, flintlock, or rifle) that a soldier at Fort Macon would have used. This will include a blank firing demonstration of the weapons.
