Jessica Kolta is a Midwest native, fell in love with the PNW for its awe-inspiring beauty,
innovative ideas and creative spirit, and has called Seattle her home for almost two decades. Jessica has traveled the world during her 25-year career in the aerospace industry and her house is filled with beautiful objects collected during her travels.
Jessica also loves jewelry and is always searching for interesting and unique pieces. Her true joy is meeting the artist behind the work and forming lasting relationships with them. She enjoys going to the opera with her husband and watching her 10-year old son play baseball.
Jessica is honored to be joining the NWAA board and supporting the talented community of artists in the PNW.

Raeanne Goldwire
"I was born and raised in Seattle Washington and am a proud UW husky! When I’m not spending time running the arts program that my husband and I founded (we offer free art programs for senior citizens) I love spending time with my niece, writing, being creative, taking scenic drives, and getting my hands a little dirty in the garden. I enjoy volunteering, consider myself a lifelong learner and jump at any chance to learn a new skills! I look forward to contributing my skills and experience to NWAA."

OUTSIDE THE LINES
(July 2023)
Small Communities
Did you know we showcase SMALL COMMUNITIES around the region? The small town of Pomeroy located in Eastern Washington, not far from Lewiston, Idaho, is the latest one to be honored.
The Blue Mountain Artisan Guild represents nearly 60 artists in this amazing community. Thank you to Pomeroy native, and amazing Seattle mural artist, Jennifer McCabe Carrasco https://carrascostudio.com/ who helped make the connection. We rely on YOU to help us find these hidden treasures. Check it out at HERE
|
How about an “art road trip?” If you are exploring eastern Washington this summer, put Pomeroy on your destination list. Check out the Pottery Show in June, Metal/Wood in July and August, or the Man Cave Show in September.
Outside the Lines is presented by the NWAA Board of Directors, providing a
focused perspective on a NWAA program or accomplishment. That effort continues as we are midway through a busy year. It seems appropriate to bring visibility to the Small Community Focus as we head into summer and many of your travel destinations include “art” with art shows, art tours, galleries, and events.

One of our participating Pomeroy artists wrote us to say: "I am so grateful for people like you, who give the developing artists in this area some backup. This kind of encouragement will give some of these very busy men and women more options to explore and grow. Thank you again for your help. It's a real gift to small communities all over Washington State."
Since “ART” is our middle name and is the driving force for all we do, then we also feel that finding art in summer is a wonderful adventure. While we seek to bring visibility to the art and artists in the region, you can use our research on our information-packed website to find some hidden treasures and corners of creativity.

Check out the previous communities honored as a SMALL COMMUNITY on our website including Union (along the shores of Hoods Canal), Gig Harbor, Southern Whidbey Island, La Conner and Guemes Island. We have learned so much about artistic creativity and varied skills throughout the region. We have been able to wander through public art, galleries, and personal studios… in person or via our website. We have enjoyed meeting talented artists who are well accomplished but less visible. More locations will be honoring more small communities in the future and welcome your suggestions!
We love this stuff and are excited to share each community with you!

Patron Membership is Now Available!
Northwest Art Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting artists with those who value art and fine craft. We now offer several levels of membership, welcoming patron involvement and allowing NWAA to continue its many years of connecting art to the community. This is especially important during these times. You can be part of this mission!
Click here to see the different levels of NWAA memberships. Pick up an apron or tote bag with artwork by either Best of the Northwest artists, Brett Varney, Elizabeth Neuman or Sarah Goodnough with our higher membership level (see images below). Tickets to the Best of the Northwest shows are also part of the gold or higher-level membership benefits. You can also easily buy an apron or tote for yourself or as a gift by clicking here. Thank you for your support!

DONATIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Northwest Art Alliance's mission and goals include expanding general and targeted outreach to all communities and artists to better serve artists' needs and help sustain support for their vocation. NWAA connects artists to the broader community through its shows. Artists would not have this critical exposure without this connection.
Northwest Art Alliance normally produces 3 or more in-person shows each year with more than 1000 artists represented during the last 3 years (unduplicated count). NWAA pivoted to virtual shows and other features to help artists sell their work during the pandemic. And now is using those skills to bring the organization into the future. NWAA needs community support and donations to continue its mission. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to this non-profit organization and click here. Thank you for your continued support of the Best of the Northwest shows!
NWAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

"We thank the Artists and Northwest Art Alliance for almost 20 years of support of Seattle Children's Hospital. Through your generous donations, together we have raised $1.5 million for unfunded care for children and families in the Pacific Northwest. Our guild's annual fundraiser, a large luncheon and auction event titled 'Art a la Carte', has been paused for 2020 to 2022. We look forward to future events when we will again work to support Seattle Children's Hospital."
Thank you,
