OUTSIDE THE LINES
(Sept 2023)
Why the Gala is important
Outside the Lines is presented by the NWAA Board of Directors, providing a focused perspective on a NWAA program or accomplishment. For this month we are looking ahead to the second Best of the Northwest “Fall Gala” offering an advance look at the newest art. On Friday, November 10, the Fall Gala is the opening event with two days following on November 11 and 12 at Magnuson Park.
Why attend the Fall Gala?
“This feels special” was a quote from one patron who enjoyed an evening of jam packed with art, a bit of food and background music.
”We love this. What a great selection of artwork” came from another.
“Do it again. It is like a festive party!” from one of the artists.
It is a chance to meet amazing artists in a more intimate setting. Stroll the aisles with a glass of wine. You have several chances to win a gift certificate to buy artwork.
|
Take a break at one of the many dining snack stations. Enjoy live acoustic music from local performers. An advance look at the “Best” amazing art with hundreds of original creations. Stroll and meet the “Best” artists…
Your entry ticket is good for all three days. The Fall Gala is a bargain at any price, but advance tickets are $30. Mark your calendars for Friday, November 10 from 3:00 to 7:30 in the big art hanger at Magnuson Park.

Why host a Gala? As members of the Board, we value that close connection with artists and felt that a relaxed social event allows for a unique experience of selecting the newest and “Best” original art. The support of artists is in our mission statement “… connecting the power of fine arts, crafts and
community.
Enjoy the art of winemaking! Martedi Winery will offer fine wines for the gala attendees.
|
The Fall Gala funds support the ongoing programs with visibility of artists, encouraging art awareness, and spreading the seeds of creativity. Three examples of the programs that benefit:
1. The Emerging Artist mentorship program helping a new artist navigate the preparation and presentation at a show as well as placement into the next big NWAA show.
2. Video production to bring visibility to accomplished artists or education for artists on business, show prep and other skills.
3. Promotion of new ideas, new directions, and new events. We are listening, looking, and working to find new ways to connect artists with varied audiences.
Come join us and be part of the 2nd Annual Fall Gala!

DONATIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Northwest Art Alliance's mission and goals include expanding general and targeted outreach to all communities and artists to better serve artists' needs and help sustain support for their vocation. NWAA connects artists to the broader community through its shows. Artists would not have this critical exposure without this connection.
Northwest Art Alliance normally produces 3 or more in-person shows each year with more than 1000 artists represented during the last 3 years (unduplicated count). NWAA pivoted to virtual shows and other features to help artists sell their work during the pandemic. And now is using those skills to bring the organization into the future. NWAA needs community support and donations to continue its mission. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to this non-profit organization and click here. Thank you for your continued support of the Best of the Northwest shows!
NWAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

"We thank the Artists and Northwest Art Alliance for almost 20 years of support of Seattle Children's Hospital. Through your generous donations, together we have raised $1.5 million for unfunded care for children and families in the Pacific Northwest. Our guild's annual fundraiser, a large luncheon and auction event titled 'Art a la Carte', has been paused for 2020 to 2022. We look forward to future events when we will again work to support Seattle Children's Hospital."
Thank you,

Another BIG thank you to all of our sponsors for their support of the Best of the Northwest Spring Show! We appreciate the businesses whose generosity made this event possible.
