Internet should be easy, now it is

OpenCape CEO Steve Johnston, State Senator Susan Moran, and Canal Region President & CEO Marie Oliva at the 10G kickoff in Buzzards Bay Park.

On August 31, OpenCape and the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber celebrated the announcement of the fastest, most reliable internet service in Buzzards Bay!

Anyone and everyone CAN have access to 10Gig service – for those who may not really understand what that means.....it means great, super robust internet service that is ultra-dependable and affordable! It's time to change the paradigm! Buzzards Bay now has it, just like our recent builds in Falmouth, Woods Hole and Hyannis. We are listening and responding to towns, business owners, and residents who want a choice of providers and internet service that is reliable, robust, and affordable. Isn't it about time?

Sunday Ticket needs seamless streaming

Bar and restaurant owners: this is for you.

Your customers are excited about the Sunday Ticket – they're ready to come to your establishment, spend their money, and watch the big game. But there are probably many other things that rely on a solid internet connection: there are sales to ring, security systems to run, and guests who use your WiFi.

CAN YOUR CURRENT INTERNET PROVIDER HANDLE SEAMLESS STREAMING, TOO?

OpenCape is the solution. Our 100% fiber optic internet is a dramatic upgrade from traditional cable, and streaming is lightning fast. We'll make sure you're always up – and your reputation as the place to go is safeguarded. To learn more, Contact us at [email protected] or call 508-362-2224.

Expanding critical bandwidth

Broad Reach Healthcare runs the cutting-edge pharmacy system "Passport Pharmacy", powered by OpenCape. This has allowed the Chatham-based business to link to an off-Cape provider and dispense medications in real-time as residents need it, without delays or delivery issues. As with all of their services, reliability* is a key factor in the outstanding care Broad Reach offers to its patients.

*Reliability in OpenCape language means 99.999% uptime - which translates to less than 6 minutes a year when your internet might be down. How does that compare to the competition?

Climate Resiliency and Internet Infrastructure

The near miss last week from Hurricane Lee prompted us to share work we have been doing on Climate Resiliency. These are words we hear often based on our proximity to the ocean – and our potential susceptibility to disturbances caused by extreme weather events and rising water levels which increases the risk of internet outages.

Damage from such outages could be significant for our region, including municipalities, the private sector and nonprofit organizations whose operations rely on the reliable and robust flow of digital information to function.

OpenCape has been and continues to work to ensure that the 3.4 million feet of fiber in our network (FYI…..that is 650 miles!) is capable of withstanding extreme climate-related issues that may present themselves in the future. This includes everything from diverse and redundant paths, to how we would continue to service clients in worst-case scenario situations.  We will continue to update all regularly on the progress we are making on ensuring our service to customers truly meets our resiliency goals and that OpenCape continues to work toward our long term goal of being carbon-neutral.
