Dear Reader,
Speed yourself along!

How about doing something you love that pays very well and benefits many people?

Is that your intent?

Havin' fun, makin' money and doin' good?

Also known as high quality of life, high standard of living and high return to community.

We're business owners and teaching business ownership in an easily mastered format was our intent.

In the early 80's we designed a "model small business" to provide "on the job training" that yields a successful business and a confident business owner in a minimum time frame.

We included an "easy to implement" development methodology that produces a predictable result.

Again, in minimal time.

No brag, just fact!

We proved that entrepreneurship could be taught and our co-op companies have won virtually every award for business growth in Houston, some nationally, and some even internationally.

Our co-up also created Houston's first (and Texas' oldest) business incubator, plus the first Womens Business Center in the U.S., plus the first virtual business accelerator in the world!

All without the first dime of public funding.

We are NOT your tax dollars at work!

Come have breakfast with us any Wednesday - virtually or in person - and we'll discuss you having the business you deserve and how to do it sooner rather than later!

And the things you learn with the co-op are also perfect for professional development and career advancement for non business owners.

Successful regard$,

ON THIS DAY SEPTEMBER 9th
1839
England's John Herschel is a true Renaissance man, and now the mathematician, inventor, chemist, and discoverer of the stunningly beautiful cyanotype process, makes the first photograph on a glass plate.

1850
The United States officially admits more than 160,000 square miles of West Coast territory, stretching from arid semi-desert lands near the Mexican border northwards to the evergreen forests of the Pacific Northwest, as the new state of California.
1948
Following post-WWII annexations by the USSR in the north and the US in the south, the country of Korea is further split as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is announced. The new socialist dictatorship, led by Kim Il Sung, takes over the north, and will close its borders and grow increasingly isolated.
1971
A combustible mixture of inhumane prison conditions, the burgeoning prisoner's rights movement, and sheer manpower erupts into a riot at Attica Correctional Facility outside Buffalo, NY. Over 1,000 prisoners take 42 employees hostage, beginning a four-day siege that will leave 33 inmates and 10 prison workers dead.

TIPS OF THE DAY
A not-for-profit cooperative association of independent service business owners, founded from an economic development research project on the importance of startup business development
conducted by the  Houston Chamber of Commerce in the late 1970's.

We operate entirely without grants, gifts, donations, contributions or public funding.
We don't have our hand out and we are NOT your tax dollars at work!
We're independent business owners, entirely self-funded and very proud of it.

Co-Op startup companies have won virtually every award for business growth in Houston, some nationally and some even internationally.

When you want assistance with your business, seek only those who have actual hands-on business ownership experience. You'll be glad you did! It makes for a world of difference!

Since our first Co-Op meeting held March 14, 1983, we've worked with 65,648 people, generating 45,193 tips, leads, referrals and items of new business, generating revenues exceeding one billion dollars, founded the Entrepreneurial Development Center - Houston's first and Texas' oldest small business incubator and co-working space, First Houston Small Business Seed Capital Fund - literally the first small business seed capital fund in Houston, the Womens Business Center - first business incubator for women business owners in the United States with residency space and the Virtual Business Center - the first remote business incubator in the world - all totally without public funding, grants, gifts, donations or contributions.

Our Entrepreneurial Research conclusively demonstrated A) "entrepreneurship" could be taught in a classroom environment, resulting in colleges and universities, globally, commencing entrepreneurial courses and B) that women starting businesses were seeking a hand-up and a level playing field rather than a hand-out or charity and C) that business incubators actually accelerated business growth resulting in the next generation being named accelerators and D) incubators/accelerators could be entirely self-sufficient by charging a modest royalty interest in client companies and E) that entrepreneurship was color blind and gender neutral.

Here are but a few of the many endorsements given us.

Here are some of the organizations we've worked with.

We grow companies, build careers and advance ideas.
May we assist with yours?
