The Uptown Update Holiday Edition
November 2019 | Vol. 5 Issue 4
Keith's Corner
Quarterly highlights from Operations Coordinator, Keith Thomas.

Clothing Donations: On November 4th, William Felty of the San Diego Veteran's Coalition donated 4 bags of women's clothes. A big thank you to the Veteran's Coalition and Auntie Helen's Thrift Store, who continues to donate clothing every Tuesday and Friday!

Case Workers: Both Union of Pan Asian Communities (UPAC) and Family Health Centers (FHC) of San Diego are now providing case workers to our clients! Our UPAC case worker will continue to work Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm, and FHC case workers will be on-site Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9am to 11am.

Shower and Laundry Room: The new washer and dryer have arrived and have been installed in our old storage area! Plumbing is needed before they will be operational.

Client Restroom: We are so grateful to be able to use the second floor restroom at St. Luke's. This restroom is equipped with a hand dryer, which will hopefully resolve our issues with paper towels clogging the toilets!
Cold Weather, Warm Hearts. During the winter season, please also consider donating new or lightly used cold weather clothing, blankets, and sleeping bags to us at Uptown for our neighbors outdoors. Click here for donation details.
Giving Thanks
Thank you to Christ Church Coronado for their donation of 99 bags of Thanksgiving groceries and 99 grocery certificates! Their annual donation helps our neighbors in need celebrate the holidays without added financial burden.

What a beautiful thing to share food and service this season!
