We heard you! We have received so many emails asking when Gudrun Erla from GE Designs will be returning to Road. Well - we have some fantastic news - not only is GE Designs returning as a vendor, but Gudrun is also teaching two classes AND is our special Wednesday Evening Lecturer!

3014C - Pole Star - Modern New York Beauty Quilt

Wednesday January 17 - 6 Hours

New York Beauties are some of the most interesting quilt blocks you can make. These gorgeous blocks are a mix of curve piecing and paper piecing. Pole star is a modern twist on this classic look. The large blocks and mix of New Your beauties with drunkard's paths give this a modern edge. This approachable pattern is a great way to learn new techniques or to try your hand at a traditional block in a new way. In the class we'll walk through how to piece traditional curves and paper piecing and assembly of the New York beauty blocks. It's a great way to jump start your project and get one on one help with any portion of the pattern.

4014C - Conquer Curves with Confidence

Whether you've never pieced a curve or just aren't comfortable sewing curves this class will guide you through each step with detail. The tips and trick shared in the course will give you the confidence you need to play with your own curve piecing designs or the skill you need to make your favorite curve pattern. We will cover different templating, cutting, basting, and sewing techniques for both traditional curves and improv pieced curves. You will complete this class knowing more about curves and more confidence when sewing them.

5012C - Wild at Heart - Large Heart Sampler

Wild at Heart is for quilters looking to experiment and learn new techniques in curve piecing. This project uses a fun heart shape to explore new piecing skills that can be used and to bring a new dynamic look to their quilting projects. The mix of traditional and modern themes in the heart gives this lap quilt fun and carefree look. Wild at Heart will spark your creativity and inspire new projects.

6010C - Modern Curves & Bold Stripes

Saturday January 20 - 6 Hours

Perfect Dozen is the perfect sampler for learning some new curve piecing tips and tricks along with combining stripes with curves. This unique visual effect adds interest, depth and movement to any quilt and can be accomplished with either striped fabric or by making your own uniquely you striped textile. Along with piecing curves this course will go over how to cut stripes with more accuracy, curves without or without templates and fussy cutting stripes to get your desired blocks. Prefect Dozen can be found in Heather's first book, Quilt Modern Curves & Bold Stripes.
