Many of you know that Spinal Network is part of MCAP (Mobility Community Access Partners), a networking group of nonprofits, agencies and businesses (a complete listing can be found a bit lower in this newsletter). We are working together to host an Adaptive Sports, Recreation and Resource Fair scheduled for June 4th. This event is sponsored by the City of San Diego Therapeutic Recreation Services. You'll find details for this event below. Come out with your family and enjoy the day.

Adaptive Sports, Recreation &

Resource Fair


June 4th - Crown Point on Mission Bay

Free Event - Lunch Provided

Join us for this fun, free event for all ages where you can try out a variety of adaptive sports, participate in workshops, browse resources & information, and enjoy free lunch & social interaction. Specifically for community members who use a wheelchair for their mobility, their families, caregivers and rehab professionals.


Hosted by MCAP (Mobility Community Access Partners) and sponsored by City of San Diego Therapeutic Recreation Services.

Check out the new locations

We have enjoyed meeting at South Shores Park on Mission Bay every other Saturday but now it is time to spread our wings a bit. We will add two new locations and rotate through them. Here are the three locations:


South Shores Park,

Mission Bay

Town Center Community Park,

Santee

The Beach,

Our next Walk, Roll & Stroll get together will be this Saturday, the 14th of May at Town Center Community Park in Santee. We'll meet at the parking lot right where Park Center Dr. ends (see map) and start walking, rolling and strolling at 10am, hope to see you there. If you have any questions, email [email protected]

Our mission is to build a world where inclusion is the norm, where education leads to employment, and where quality of life is elevated. MCAP will be a consistent and reliable resource and pillar of advocacy in the community.


Reminder: Participants Needed for Usability Study


UpLyft™ still has a few spots available in our Usability Study this Friday, May 13th in San Diego, CA. We are looking for wheelchair users, seniors (ages 60+), home caregivers, nurses, doctors, and any other healthcare workers to participate in the study.


The study shall take no more than 30 minutes and each participant will receive a $100 Visa gift card for their time.
