Spirit Sticks

Looking for a stick at SummerHill brought back memories of my tomboy years
where we would use wooden sticks to create weapons of all kinds.
Bows were my very favorite ;)

To have the opportunity to use a wooden stick for a "higher purpose"
and get the chance to decorate it was quite the special treat.

This one was chosen because it reminded me of how I used to wear my hair.
If you look closely at the very top of the stick there is a pine cone
that pretty much matches the shape of my hair ;)

Humor is my best friend and I use it often these days to replace self criticism.

This particular Spirit Stick
has always been used in my Groups, in person, 28 Day Programs.
Not only it gives me an opportunity to introduce one of our Creative Projects
but also share a bit about my unique experience at Summerhill with Denise.

Many things attracted me to Denise's Soul Coaching® Training
but staying at Summerhill was definitely a deciding factor.
How many worldwide known teachers invite their students into their very homes?
I only know one.

We have created a home studio and the intention was always to use it
as a unique teaching and sacred space.
Our students get to see and feel who we are from the inside out.
Every color, every object, every scent in our home exhales a bit of our essence,
a bit of who we truly are.
I don't need to explain myself when they can clearly see who I am.
We can dive into the heart of the matter.
Transparency is a priority and really frees me up to be all that I can be.

This Spirit Stick has been used as a

Talking Stick

for the Soul Coaching® Groups I have held and also my Women's Groups.

If you are not familiar with the purpose of a Talking Stick here's a wonderful explanation.

"The talking stick, also called a speaker's staff, [1] is an instrument of aboriginal democracy used by many tribes, especially those of indigenous peoples of the Northwest Coast of North America. The talking stick may be passed around a group or used only by leaders as a symbol of

their authority and right to speak in public. [2] In a tribal council circle, a talking stick is passed around from

member to member allowing only the person holding the stick to speak.

This enables all those present at a council meeting to be heard, especially those who may

be shy; consensus can force the stick to move along to assure that the "long winded"

don't dominate the discussion; and the person holding the stick may allow others to interject. Talking sticks have high ceremonial and spiritual value, and have proved to be exceedingly useful during current implementations."
