There are 6 members of the Transitional Committee that will be meeting with the congregation starting on February 10 and 11th, after the Saturday and Sunday service. Members of the Committee are Deb Hall, Marcy Fleming, Jackie Shelbourn, Dar Stucke, Craig Thomas, and Daryl Wilton.
The meetings will continue until March 9th and 10th. Each of the available committee members will be meeting with groups of 3 to 5 interested people for no more than one hour. The committee members will be asking each participant 7 questions about the past, present, and future of Spirit of Hope as will as characteristics desired in a new pastor.
Signup sheets for “listening sessions” will be available beginning this weekend, Feb 3 & 4, at the church. If you are not attending the church this weekend you may call the church at a time when the office is staffed after this weekend to sign up.
The “Listening Sessions” are designed to gain knowledge from the congregation for our reports that will be going into the synod as we seek a new pastor.
Speaking for the transitional committee we are looking forward to getting together with you in the coming month.

Lutheran Advocacy Ministry of Arizona (LAMA) spent Thursday, January 18th at the state capitol where they were able to meet with 38 of Arizona's legislators to bring the 2024 advocacy focus. The focus this year will be hunger (as always), homelessness, civic engagement (voting rights) and water issues in Arizona. These are the topics we as Lutherans will be watching for bills that come before the legislators this year.
Tina Gilson, Marcy Fleming, Margaret Anderson, Floyd Anderson, Steve Crofton and Karen Crofton attended this year's event.
Meetings were interesting and fruitful. We look forward to next year.
Interested in learning more? Check out lamaz.org for more information, or talk to Tina or Marcy.
Thanks!
