SHOE BOX MINISTRY

The Shoe Box Ministry has started. Please pick up a shoe box or two at church and put your name on the list showing which boxes you took.

The filled boxes must be back to church by October 29. The boxes have the boys' or girls' ages on the top and the list of needed items will be in the inside.

Prayers –

We pray for those church members who are struggling with many health issues.

Pray for the health of: Michael Kravec, Donna Miller, Linda Miner, Pastor Jim Eschenbacher, Frieda, Ruthie, Mike, Linda and Ken, Lois.

Prayers for Hans & Diane Reinhardt on the passing of their son, Bill last weekend in North Dakota. Give them your strength and comfort dear God.

Lord, guide all who are struggling this week with loss and grief.

Help us be angels that shine the Light oi Christ upon them giving encouragement as they need. Amen

If you are ill, someone is hospitalized, or there is a death, call the Spirit of Hope Office at 480-396-8300. If it is outside of Office Hours, contact Pastor at 909-435-5200.

Names will be removed from the prayer list after three weeks. If you want to go back on the prayer list, please contact the church office or email to prayerteam@spiritofhopelutheran.com.

Everyone worked so hard to make Pastor Tony's farewell service and brunch an absolute success! From the fabulous fellowship team, to the cooks, kitchen clean up crew, table and chair crew etc. It was a true look at how this community functions and shows the love!

Trunk or Treat at Spirit of Hope

When: Friday, October 20

Time: 6:00 to 8:00 pm

We need decorated trunks and helpers for the evening. Please come and help out.

Farewell to Pastor Tony

Remembering Pastor Tony at the many breakfasts at IHop over the years enjoying food and conversation. Here he is enjoying brunch following the worship service on Sunday.

Pastor's last sermon at Spirit of Hope in an inspiring liturgical service. Good by and we all wish you the best in the years to come.

· Someone will be in the church office Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am-1pm

· Messages will be picked up from the Church voicemail on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sunday.

· We have a very active lay ministry team. If you would like a visit, please leave a message at Church or contact the prayer ministry team.

There will be a box on the desk/counter at church where you can slip in a note about someone you wish us to pray for. Please print. These requests, along with those in the newsletter will be added during our worship services for 3 weeks.

STUDY - THE TORAH

The TORAH is the compilation of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, namely the books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

The Torah consists of the origin of Jewish peoplehood: their call into being by God, their trials and tribulations, and their covenant with their God, which involves following a way of life embodied in a set of moral and religious obligations and civil laws.
