IT IS HERE - The season of Lent
In the darkness of life, let God shine through you this season as we are drawn closer to Christ, in love and humble gratitude for all that Jesus has done for us. After all, Christ took on our, pain and brokenness, accepted and encountered the cross in order to redeem us and the world form the evils of sin and death. Through Christ’s sacrifice we are free to love and serve God and each other!  Come and follow me.

Lent is a time for all Christians to reflect on our blessings. The Lenten season is also a time where we can challenge ourselves to simple Lenten Disciplines. It is a time where we can grow in our spirituality.
Lent is traditionally a period to remember Christ's forty days in the wilderness. Many people discipline themselves during this church season by giving something up as a sacrifice as Jesus sacrificed himself. The primary focus for Lent , however, should not simply be giving up one of our pleasures in life, but to rededicate our very lives to Christ as God's faithful Children

God in My Hands
When I was ready to give up on the Church, it was the sacraments that pulled me back.
When my faith had become a little more than an abstraction, a set of propositions to be affirmed or denied, the tangible, tactile nature of the sacraments invited me to touch, smell, taste, hear, and see God in the stuff of everyday life again. They got God out of my head and into my hands. They reminded me that Christianity isn’t meant to simply be believed; it’s meant to be lived, shared, eaten, spoken, and enacted in the presence of other people. They reminded me that, try as I may, I can’t be a Christian on my own.

A Word from the Women's Bible Study

By Dar Stucke

And now you have become living building-blocks of stone for God’s use in building his house. 1 Peter 2:5

Many years ago our family took a trip to Washington DC. During this time in our nation’s capital, we visited the Washington Cathedral. We learned that this building had been under construction for a number of years and was still not completed. After touring the building, we walked behind the cathedral on the way back to our car. There we saw an interesting collection of stones of varying shapes and sizes, each marked with a number. We learned that each had been cut into a certain size and shape to fit into a particular place. They were all numbered so the workers would know where to place them.
God is building a spiritual house. Jesus Christ, the Living Stone, is the Foundation and the Cornerstone. Christians are living stones placed in this building. These living stones are not all the same size or shape but are especially prepared for the place God has for them in His building. As I looked at the stones to be placed in the great cathedral, I could see that they had been cut and chiseled in preparation for their particular spot. We, too, must be prepared for the place God has for us. This may require cutting and chiseling. Of course, we may rebel against this, but the day will come when we will see its value.
My dear Dad told the story of a friend who lost everything during the depression. He lost his wife, his farm, his home and now his job, but he tenaciously held on to his faith in God, which was all he had left. One day this man stopped to watch several men doing granite stone work on a large courthouse. One of them was chiseling a triangular piece of stone. “What are you going to do with that?” the man asked. The workman replied, “See that little opening up there near the high tower? Well, I am shaping this down here so that it will fit in up there.” Later tears filled his eyes as he relayed to Dad that God had spoken to him through that workman to explain the ordeal through which he was passing. It was as if the Divine Workman himself had said, “I am shaping you down here so that you will fit in up there.”

Dear God, I know that each person is a building block called by You. You have ordained a unique job and purpose for each of us. Help me to endure today’s troubles and trials, knowing You are shaping me to fit in Your Kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen🙏

Hi everyone!
My name is Gabby and I am affiliated with Public Allies, an Americorps branch focused on leadership development and supporting non-profit organizations. As part of the program my team and I are collaborating with AZCEND, a non-profit organization with a long standing history in Chandler and the greater East Valley. They focus on providing a myriad of services ranging from food distribution to assisting the homeless population.

I am eager to share with you an opportunity to participate in a special drive to assist AZCEND in collection and distribution of food/hygiene items during the month of March. The collection of these items will directly benefit individuals and families during difficult times. There will be two bins located at Spirit of Hope, one for the collection of food items and one for the collection of hygiene items. We would greatly appreciate any donations you can give from the list of items below. Thank you so much for your contributions!!
