A Word from the Women's Bible Study

By Dar Stucke
January 6th has come to be known as the day of Epiphany. It reminds us of the visit of the Magi to the little Jesus.
"For we have seen his star in the East, and have come to worship him." Matthew 2:2
And when they came into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 2:11
The Magi had come to worship Him. This had been their one purpose—all else was secondary. Time, expense, the inconvenience of leaving home, the hardships of travel, nothing could hold them back. They had stopped at nothing short of coming to worship Him. When they found Him, “they fell down and worshipped him.”  Do we take time in this modern world to really worship Him, or are we so caught up in the activities of life that we neglect this?
Perhaps we need to take time to consider what worship is. It is often defined as the overflow of the love of our hearts for Him. It is a heart-to -heart meeting with God. It is a bowing before God in adoration and contemplation of Himself. It is ascribing worship to the One who is worthy. I once read someplace that “In prayer we are occupied with our needs, in praise we are occupied with our blessings, but in worship we are occupied with Him.”
The word “worship” has come down to us from the Anglo-Saxon from which comes our word “worth.” When we worship Him, we acknowledge His worth. “Worthship” was difficult to pronounce, so the word was changed to “worship.”
The star which the wisemen saw in the east brought them to the end of their quest for they saw Him, the One for whom they had been searching. They fell down and worshipped Him. Although they saw Him, they didn’t say, “We have come to see Him.” They said, “We have come to worship Him.” They brought Him gifts, but they didn’t say, “We have brought Him gifts.” They had come to adore Him.
It has been said, “Many petition, some intercede, but few worship.” Do you?
Dear Jesus, I want to be all in with my one hundred percent worship of You. Help me to grow closer to accomplishing that this year. In Your name, Amen 🙏

Happy New Year Spirit of Hope

We have faced so many challenges this year, as a church, in our family lives, and as a country. We heard so many stories of those in need, those who were on the front line working so many hours to help all those suffering from Covid, those who suffered the loss of family and friends from Covid and other illnesses.
But through it all, I do have to say Spirit of Hope has helped along the way. We have helped those behind the scenes as well as those that we all know needed help. We are blessed in so many ways we have to open our eyes to see this. You have opened your hearts and eyes to see the writing on the wall.
We still have challenges coming at us this New Year but as a Church, we will get through this, we will support each other as well as those who need us...
So now I have an idea. I want each one of you to write a letter to thank those on the front line. Address to the staff at Banner Hospital as an example. Let them know how much you appreciate all they have done for us. The sacrifices they have made. Just let them know we care. we love.
So I would like to take this time to thank you for all the donations for the JUSTA CENTER. You may have purchased a calendar, you may have bought a much-needed item. For this, I want to thank you all. If you have something you want to donate you have until Jan. 7th. I will be calling them up at the time to arrange a pickup. Since the church is closed at the moment you can call me and you can drop it by my house..

God Bless each of you
Wendy
All these items were

purchased by you for the

Justa Center.

THANK YOU!!
