A PERSONAL NOTE
Hi,
WARNING: Rant ahead! The dragon fire in me has been lit, so skip this note if you won't like the heat!
First of all, we saw a movie the other night called "Arrival" and my response to it was indignation! I've been reading science fiction since the fifth grade so I feel somewhat competent enough to critique a movie that some raved about but that we found muddled and incomprehensible. There were aliens, blurry, with seven elephant-skin-looking tentacles that they just stood around on the whole time, no furniture, and no clothes (
will there ever be a sentient race without FASHION??!!!); they had starfish hands and "spoke" in inky Rorschach blots. Not only was the featured First Encounter a jumbled mess, where our heroine - a linguist - out of 12 teams of scientists around the globe (including her do-nothing colleague-boyfriend), is the only one who can figure out how to communicate with them (which is never explained), but the perplexing plot interwove at least four storylines including time slips, precognition, a schmaltzy story about a child dying, and, of course, saving the future of the human race, all with cheap-o special effects - a concoction that my English Writing professor would have red-penciled with a D-minus if she was feeling generous!
My indignation about this is directed mainly at studios who showcase this stuff, and reviewers who sell this junk as admirable. Ditto, the prior impenetrable "Interstellar".
My deeper indignation lately revolves around some people's responses to the election results. All outraged and up-in-arms, it would seem, with miniscule amounts of information - oblivious to the corruption, treason, threat to our nation's existence, and outright crimes that were uncovered... just as though they don't exist or don't matter. This is bugging the heck out of me because I truly believe the republic was just saved by the skin of its teeth, and that, like it or not, a great deal of ugly stuff is bound to come out with legal efforts against the corruptors. No one's above the law, and personally I hope everything is unmasked and laid out.
On a lighter note, an interesting fellow has contacted me to be on his blog radio show. Jimmy Mack is a healer who has been able to send energy over the phone that is felt and received. I hope a true healing has taken place. I love his vibes, and I look forward to being on his show on Dec 6th, kicking things around, regarding what we each do, taking questions, and having fun.

DEC. 2016 ASTRO TIDBITS
In the world chart, December begins with high energy and an innovative approach along with good long-term planning (
Mars trine Jupiter, sextile Saturn, and sextile Uranus
). High ideals are expressed on the 10th (
Mercury sextile Neptune
), yet there is caution amid the humanitarian openness and fortunate direction for growth by the 12th (
Sun conjunct Saturn, trine Uranus, sextile Jupiter
). Lots of communications occur on the 14th (
Full Moon in Gemini trine Mars
), followed by important speeches on the 19th (
Mercury station retrograde conjunct Pluto
). The 26th is excellent for economies and brings cause to celebrate (
Venus trine Jupiter, sextile Saturn, and sextile Uranus
). The 29th indicates some gradual change as well as some abrupt change (
Uranus station direct sextile Saturn, opposite Jupiter
), with a focus on business measures (
New Moon conjunct retrograde Mercury, sextile Mars
), along with confrontations (

).
Our nation experiences free-floating and continual anxiety all month (

). The first week favors long-term planning and strengthening of the police or military (

). The mood is feisty by the 2nd week (

maneuvers her financial deals all month (

) but encounters an upset in that regard on the 14th, perhaps involving the Clinton Foundation (

). If indicted around the 29th (

), she can also be pardoned by month's end (

). However, 2018 brings greater likelihood of a day of reckoning regarding legal problems, secrets, foreign deals, and/or health (
her progressed Saturn, from H9, conjunct her Sun, ruler of intercepted H9, in H12

Julian Assange

), founder of Wikileaks and international whistleblower fugitive now, is a techie rebel by nature (

) who has been instrumental in revealing corruption and law-breaking by our government via Twitter postings. Some people feel he is a hero but are concerned for his life, seeing his deeds as instrumental in Hillary's loss of the election. 2017 will be challenging (
Saturn square his Pluto, opposite his Venus
) but he is also receiving much protection from the star patterns (
Jupiter sextile his progressed Venus/progressed Sun, trine his Venus, trine his Mars
) so he'll be secure (and may even be Time magazine's Man of the Year).

At the moment, the answer is "probably not soon". As a nation we seem to be ideologically divided, pitted against one another by our conflicting beliefs and also by the fact that we're not all in possession of the same types of information that would help us reach rational and unemotional conclusions. We will stay polarized beyond the tumultuous election because as a people we are inhabiting very different realities.
This a sad and even dangerous fact. I have two things to say about it:
The first point has to do with the current state of our journalism, because a large proportion of the population may not have been exposed to many key facts... or may simply not want to know them. And this does not make for coherent, consistent, well-informed responses.
The second point is a celestial pattern that has been in effect for some time and which is guaranteed to cause discord and disruption. This pattern astrologically (Uranus conjunct Eris) in and of itself represents turmoil and is affecting many peoples all over the globe, not just our nation... but happens to be especially affecting our nation because of a further celestial pattern against our country's natal horoscope (...square Mercury). All of this is to say that the divisiveness, inability to reach a singular view of reality, and a shared and accepted perspective, is contributing to a protracted era of disharmony and polarization.
I don't have an insight into why this has been cosmically ordained. Although I can see it, and even see its duration, I can only surmise as to why we must suffer this deep divide that pits us against each other in terms of values, beliefs, passionate causes, and yearning for solutions. The only thing I can intuit is that we are meant to struggle with this untenable divide, this clash of beliefs, this lack of unity within our society long enough to grow weary of it and to pine for true tolerance, true compromise and true unification.
According to the star patterns, it will not be available until 2018, and perhaps beyond, after which time hopefully a hue and cry is raised for agreed-upon reform and positive transformation of our laws and structures.

BOOK REVIEW:
"Arthur C. Clarke's Mysteries", by John Fairley and Simon Welfare (Michael O'Mara Books Ltd., 1998)
The format of this book is to address a variety of "mysteries" researched by the two authors and followed by comments by Arthur C. Clarke. There are also illustrations of many but not all of the mysteries.
Some of these "mysteries" are of physical things fairly typical, such as the Loch Ness Monster, the great Siberian explosion in Tunguska, and the Nazca lines in Peru, whereas others are intangible matters such as maledictions, life before life, and blessings in disguise.
The randomness of the selections was not satisfying because it felt scattershot and did not really present any type of overall theory or even the thinking behind the various choices. It felt as though the authors came up with a card catalog search (some of you may remember that type of reference) or a Google search for sundry things that fell under the category of mysteries. Bigfoot snow prints, giant squid, stone circles, architecturally precise ancient building techniques, mummified remains of Arctic explorations, people who bleed from stigmata or endure hanging from hooks in their back, witchdoctors, spontaneous human combustion, earth carvings, superstitions, fire-walking, anomalies found in architectural digs are all lumped together with very little organization rationale.
And so I'm left wondering how all of this fits together and what point is being made. Is this an exploration of the powers of the mind, of the continuation of consciousness beyond the physical, of ancient alien technology, or the unreliability of common physical evidence? While it is enjoyable to read some of these items, the book feels like a pastiche that was thrown together for the point of sales (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Clarke's comments are mostly afterthoughts, not adding much new light into each topic or incident but merely capitalizing on Clarke's renown.
Enjoyable for what it's worth, but not very much recommended.

Please give a channeling for December, especially at this intense and difficult time.
It is to be expected that there is backlash, moaning, and fright, for there has been an increasing sense of anxiety over the future, and what it may contain. The sense of safety that needs to permeate society has been removed and those figures who prevail or dominate the news do not seem the type likely to offer such safety as holds true on all sides and for all participants. Therefore, the main thing to strive for in this holiday season is the location of the sense of safety and security within the self and not outside.
How can that happen, and what steps are required?
Safety is produced within the self through an understanding of one's purpose in life and one's connection to one's higher aspect, for when one is in resonance with this purpose and aspect, one is fulfilling one's role perfectly and therefore under the dominion of spirit. Spirit rules in this realm in a rather magical way, bringing into the life happy coincidences and meaningful relationships.
When one feels this connection and sees these evidences, the result is a sense of calm in the heart and strength in the gut. With these two attributes of calm and strength, the world feels secure and safe. Therefore, do not look to leaders for safety but travel upwards into your mind's eye, and further... into the heavens. Ask for protection, and also surrender into service. In this way, a conduit is established. Light pours forth, peace reigns, and you know safety.
It is, after all, the entire meaning of the season.
