A PERSONAL NOTE
Hi,
I was introduced recently to an interesting concept by my 35-year-old physical therapist during a conversation about Millennials (which are the generation born between 1981 and 1996, who are reaching young adulthood in the early part of this century). My own children were born during an earlier astrological configuration (Uranus conjunct Pluto) that astrologers call the dot-com generation (those born between 1965 and 1980, Gen X, who are now approaching their Fifties), and whose mission, if it can be described as such, was to usher in the internet, and monetize it, but also bring forth global mind where everyone is connected to everyone, and all information and knowledge that humans have ever been able to discover, capture, retrieve and store is available to all who can get online.
The therapist's concept, on the other hand, was the notion that the Millennials are inspired by the acronym F.I.R.E. It stands for "Financial Independence Retire Early". The therapist, himself on the older cusp of the Millennial's generation, informed me that many Millennials want to save every penny, have no large debt, even going so far as to live out of cardboard boxes and save every dollar, in order to retire in their Twenties or Thirties, financially independent! We had some further interesting discussion about
purpose... because if you retire that early, what do you do with all those remaining years unless you find some passion, some purpose, or in his words, "What are you going to do for the world?!"
Obviously, this is not a hedonistic or consumerist slogan. It's a life philosophy that rejects my generation's unconscious slogan, which can be jokingly referred to as "He/she who dies with the most toys, wins." I'm glad to know that plain ol' materialism is on the decline but I am staunchly in favor of capitalism - a system whereby the freedom to pursue happiness through right livelihood can exist. As for purpose, I certainly teach from my book,
The Wisdom Keys, that level 3 is world service, and level 4 transcends even the notion of us being separate from one another (or the Universe).
It's interesting to ponder how the evolution of society is trending, and what this might mean for the future of our nation and of the world. I don't have answers (yet!), but I certainly want to keep observing with this new point of view in mind.
As a side note completely off-topic, my son who is battling cancer has gotten some decent news that there is no new growth. I would dearly love if he and his doctors gave a serious look into CBD oil as an adjunct treatment. Has anybody in my readership had experience with using CBD oil as a treatment against cancer? I would love to hear from you.

In the World, February begins mixed, with the potential for practicality regarding dreams (
Neptune sextile Saturn
) but violence as well (
Mars square Pluto
). The 4th is an excellent day for treaties, plans, or contracts (
New Moon conjunct Mercury in progressive Aquarius; Mercury sextile Jupiter
). Innovations and/or accidents are possible on the 13th-14th (
Mars conjunct Uranus
). Altruism and romance are favored on the 16th-17th (
Venus sextile Neptune
), with the 18th indicating a cautious approach to love and pleasures (

).
For the U.S., an odd mixture of hope yet turbulence is seen (

REVIEW:
"
Heal Your Body: The Mental Causes for Physical Illness and the Metaphysical Way to Overcome Them" - Louise Hay (Hay House, 1982)
Author Louise Hay is famous in the metaphysical field. In fact, she founded the preeminent metaphysical publishing house called Hay House in 1984, which now has a subsidiary called Balboa Press through which my second book, The Wisdom Keys, is published. She was an American motivational speaker and is known for several self-help books including the renowned "You Can Heal Your Life."
In the Introduction to this book, she wants her readers to know that she firmly believes that "disease can be reversed simply by reversing mental patterns." Her authenticity in this regard comes from her history, she tells us, of being raped at five years old and being a battered child, then in adulthood being diagnosed with cancer of the vagina, which she attests is mentally and emotionally connected to that abuse. After panicking, she realized that "cancer comes from a pattern of deep resentment that is held for a long time until it literally eats away at the body." Obviously, this was the crisis that launched her into her profound and influential career.
She begins this book by talking about the point of power as being in the present moment - a point that we have heard elsewhere through, for instance, the channeled entity Seth - giving us the ability to shift our reality by transforming from this moment forward. She talks about mental thought patterns that form our experience, and how to replace old patterns.
The bulk of the book consists of a vertical column listing three categories: Problem, Probable Cause, and New Thought Pattern (the latter is sometimes described as an affirmation). I have long felt that cancer was connected to old emotions and frustrations eating away at you, and when I looked up Cancer in this book (since my youngest child is being challenged by the disease), her words had a strong impact on me. "Cancer," she says, "is deep hurt. Long-standing resentment. Deep secret or grief eating away at the self. Carrying hatreds. With the thought, 'What's the use?'" The healing antidote or thought-replacement, she says, is "I lovingly forgive and release all of the past. I choose to fill my world with joy. I love and approve of myself." If a cancer patient can do this, they'll go a long way to overcoming the disease, and the healing affirmation, while not necessarily replacing medicine, can certainly change the environment in which the disease is growing since we now know that cells of the body are affected by thought-energy.
The book consists primarily of this column which runs from page 10 through page 80, and includes a special section on Spinal Misalignments. It's impossible to read it without looking up one's own diseases or health conditions, seeing the probable cause, and discovering the new thought replacement. Almost every possible condition is addressed, and so this book is more of a reference source than a readable tome.
In my experience, it reminds me of a different book, now out of print, called "Who's the Matter with Me?" by Alice Steadman, describing how emotional problems are expressed in physical symptoms such as who's the pain my neck. Books of this sort are invaluable to people who wish to practice new thought to conquer disease on the mental level as well as with our wonderful medical strides.
Although it's not a traditional read, I can recommend this wholeheartedly. 5 Stars.

Our contemporary world seems challenging at the moment. Headlines not only in our country but elsewhere around the globe proclaim conflict and economic distress. There are pressures on the environment, on families, and on businesses. None of these may be specific to you, but the general tone of the times lacks peace. This may be because we are in a transition era, on the cusp of a new age, or because our values are changing and there's generalized confusion. What's a person to do during this type of era?
I'm referring to low-level stress... ambient because it's all around us, not necessarily anything specific but permeating our lives in ways that might add to health problems or mental and emotional weightiness.
There is something quite specific that anyone can do: to build in your thoughts a world for yourself that is calmer and feels more secure. I'm talking about creating one's own reality, and doing it as though you were able to exist in a bubble or behind a shield (it's more like resting in an egg-shaped sphere) that you inhabit on a day to day basis, and in this domain of your own making you build a reality that you design. You visualize yourself and your loved ones as held in an energy field of light, nurturance, and safety. You see the cells in your body as working well and affected only by love and health. You see your personal relationships as kind or well-intention - and you push out of your dynamic sphere those who might not treat you in this fashion. You do this with visualization, sending them loving kindness but pushing them out of your milieu (and they will eventually leave you in real life as you maintain this visualization).
Mentally, emotionally, and psychologically, you hold yourself in a joyful place. For instance, on a beautiful beach in a warm and gentle climate, or on a mountain trail with fresh air and gorgeous vistas. When you feel that you are in your perfect sphere, and that you have learned how to continue it, maintain it, sustain it, it won't really matter what is going on in the larger world, for you have created a peaceful reality that will bring benefits - cannot do otherwise - to your health, well-being, and prosperity.
How does this differ from living in a fantasy? It's quite different, for a fantasy exists in the imagination - or as we might say, on the astral plane - and never comes down to earth. You may project yourself into your fantasy but it doesn't have the attributes of solid reality. What I'm suggesting is a technique that works with solid reality - in other words, the very cells of your body, or your daily emotional state. Lucky coincidences begin to occur. These are sometimes called synchronicity. And your pleasant state of mind actually increases as fortunate coincidences occur more and more. Your safe, shielded sphere begins to attract things that are safe and secure.
As above, so below; as without, so within.
These are time-tested techniques to create your reality even in the midst of the whirlwind of life. Try it - you may be surprised. You will certainly be helped.

THE HIGHER REALM'S LOVE FOR ITS CREATION
We hear and we see what is happening, and we participate. We are not passive nor are we impersonal. We are deeply, greatly involved in humankind's struggle because we are that, we are the pinnacle of evolved sentience; we are both the physical actors in the game or drama, and the creators, guides, and steering committee of it, for there is truly no separation. It is just the illusion that there is separation, and that illusion is even greater in thinking, believing, or feeling that both of these realms - physical and spiritual - are themselves separate from the highest order (also called God).
It is becoming known more so, gradually, that there is oneness and singularity. What isn't quite understood is the truth about this thing called separation. But we can explain in this fashion: When a pregnant mother carries her baby, she is one thing. As it kicks and squirms in its development, she becomes aware that, though she and the baby are still one thing, they diverge and have individual feelings and reactions. That kicking fetus is becoming separate, and may even have its moods or responses that are different from hers even though they are still a unit. Once her baby is born, its separateness or individuality becomes all that clearer, and anyone who has watched a child having a tantrum can attest that the parent feels quite different in that moment, and even knows more than the fussing child. In its development the child will go through its stages. One of those stages is even the rejection of its parent, especially the mother of whom it was recently a part.
This is similar to the relationship of guides, elders, guardians versus humans, offspring, product. And yet there is always still oneness, for although the creation can dispute, resist, and even commit mayhem against the progenitor, still they were a unit and retain that bond.
Now, if one were to see this unit - sometimes called a monad in metaphysical systems - against an even larger backdrop or timespan or panorama, one knows that the parent and child did not spring forth instantaneously from nothingness but represented a long line stretching back to the beginnings of life itself, raising the question about the ultimate, eternal progenitor of this life, again called God. No matter how it is perceived there is oneness. The creator and the creation are one. The journey is back to this realization through the path of separateness until the understanding is reached that there is in fact no real separateness.
Why, then, would the higher realm be disinterested in what is being played out in the denser realm? Instead, there is a yearning to accelerate the wisdom, to have the fragments reunite in recognition, love, and oneness. This is inevitable as much as it may be painful. But nevertheless, it occurs and is real. We and you are as much one as our connection is with the highest. It is always so. There is never uncaring dispassion; there is only love. Love for creation. Love for the game. Love for the child, for the parent, and for the elder.
