A PERSONAL NOTE
Hi,
It's been an interesting month. On the plus side, individually and with a group of my fellow metaphysical students, we did powerful meditations for an ill friend (and even for the GOP lawmaker Steve Scalise who was shot by a would-be assassin while playing bipartisan Congressional softball). Rapid improvements were seen - not discounting the doctors' efforts as well as many who simply prayed - with results that might even be characterized as "miraculous" as our friend woke up almost immediately and shortly thereafter came out of the ICU. We also determined to take our Tarot MeetUp and MetaMeetUp groups to new, experiential heights... because the mystical experience of direct vibratory connection to a higher force can't be achieved simply with talk and logic. It must be done with the cells, muscles, and circulation of energy in our bodies.
Also on the positive front, my latest article, "Our Neptunian Era", will appear in the Fall in Dell Horoscope magazine (more details to come). It tackles the astrology behind our confusing era of "fake news", boundary issues, and general political muddle, but concludes with some upbeat remarks about an encouraging change in the upcoming energy patterns.
Under the recent New Moon in Cancer, my husband and I saw the fun movie "Wonder Woman" - she's Diana, after all... the name of the Goddess of the Moon, ruler of the sign Cancer - and later our spiritual women's group determined to work with her wonderful, feminine energy in future gatherings.
However, on the not-so-positive side, I've been angry a lot in my Facebook posts. That's the emoticon I'm impelled to use when reading about the terrible goings-on, be they terrorist attacks or fake news or advertising support of seditious shows or people. (And sometimes I've even been using a vomit emoji.) At first, I thought, well, that's not being very Zen. But now I've reached a different take. I'm just really pissed off at how our society has devolved... partly because of misplaced idealism, partly because we are blinded to the subversive participants, and partly because many citizens just aren't well-informed.
Someone challenged me recently, saying it was impossible to fathom a spiritual person also being a Conservative! (Whereas, some Liberals are looking pretty intolerant, unspiritual, and downright sleazy to me lately.) Well, I am a testament to the existence of a very spiritual person - God-centered and service oriented - who is also a disgusted and scared Conservative, trying mightily to save America as we old-timers knew it, and as its mandate requires it to be. I'm not alone. Very many of us are the same combination of compassionate but patriotic warriors.

JULY 2017 ASTRO TIDBITS
In the world chart, there is much delusion and false idealism during the first half of the month (
Neptune quinqunx Jupiter
). Rage and violence are particularly intense on the 3rd (
Pluto opposite Mars
), which can peak on the 9th (
Full Moon conjunct Pluto
). An accident or explosion is possible on the 18th (
Mars square Uranus
), but the 19th indicates pleasantries (
Venus trine Jupiter
)! The 23rd ushers in a dramatic fresh start for activism and protests, or even military actions (
New Moon at 0 Leo conjunct Mars
).
For our nation, there is excess the first few days of the month (
Jupiter square U.S. Sun
); the economy perks along during its first half (
Jupiter conjunct U.S. Saturn in H10
). However, rage "rules the day" all month (
Pluto square U.S. progressed Mars
). Weakness in government is shown mid-month, along with a torrent of fake news (
Saturn square U.S. Neptune in H9; Neptune in U.S. H3 quinqunx U.S. Saturn
). Much arguing is shown on the 12th (
Mars conjunct U.S. Mercury
), with the chance of violence again on the 16th-17th (
Mars opposite U.S. Pluto
). Some effort to turn to spirituality and idealism occurs during the last third (
Neptune trine U.S. Sun
). Week 4 brings restrictions and frustration (
Saturn opposite U.S. Mars
).
President Donald J. Trump
has a lot on his plate (similar to last November when he won the Presidency) (
his progressed Moon conjunct his progressed Midheaven/progressed Saturn
). Week 1 is especially frustrating (
Saturn quinqunx his Saturn
). From the 10th-11th, and again on the 24th, he is quite aggravated (
Mars conjunct his Saturn
); he will be pressed into strong action by the 23rd (
Mars/New Moon conjunct his progressed Midheaven/progressed Moon
), for which he will gain in popularity (
Venus opposite his Moon, trine his Sun
). The second half of July sees him working on a large-scale project (
Pluto square his Jupiter
).
Loretta Lynch
faces much pressure and a great power struggle (
Pluto square her progressed Ascendant
) but may "slip through the noose" for now (
Uranus trine her progressed Mars
).

Here is a healing meditation you can use for loved ones whom you know personally, or people in the news to whom you'd like to send powerful healing energy, such as someone wounded in a terrorist attack, or someone going through a health struggle. The excellent thing about this is that it can be done from the comfort of your home, and at your convenience.
All you will need is about 10 minutes of peace and quiet. A candle of any type will help but is not necessary.
Once you are in a comfortable space and posture, and the candle (if you are using one) is lit, begin regular breathing, using that to relax. You will start to feel as though you are floating. (This occurs naturally after steady paced breathing and gradual muscle relaxation.) You can close your eyes to facilitate this process. Now you can begin the visualization part.
Visualize a beam of light, perhaps entering you pleasantly from the lighted candle, but by all means awakening from your heart and rising upward into your forehead (third eye). See that beam growing brighter and brighter - certain colors such as pink, gold, white, royal blue or purple are very enhancing. See the beam shooting upwards from your crown until it reaches the astral plane. Once there, see the light connecting to, and integrating into, a bridge of light. This bridge is often called The Rainbow Bridge.
You now have the capability of sending your beam of light over and across the bridge of light, and into a beam that extends from the crown of whomever you are trying to heal. In effect, it's
like an arc of energy from your strength to their need. The effort is activated by your breath, your intention, and your imagination.
Even if you don't know the other party personally, they will still receive. Your light will still infuse him or her. Everything is connected. Consciousness directs the whole show, and the party on the other end of your visualization becomes the recipient of your love and blessings.
If done right, you'll find yourself happy and energized.
This meditation is effective when done privately but is far more powerful when done by a group, coordinated at a specific time.

BOOK REVIEW:
"Almost A Miracle: The American Victory in the War of Independence" - by John Ferling (Oxford University Press, 2007)
Very detailed and eminently scholarly yet engaging and easy to read, this tome about the American Revolution and its struggle to free the nascent nation from the tyranny of Great Britain's monarchy is a masterpiece! Thick with exceptional research, at 700 pages including 74 of Notes alone, an astounding Bibliography, and even maps of many battles illustrating troop movements, I hated to put it down each night. It reads like an episodic television show, keeping the reader on tenterhooks even when one knows the ultimate outcome of history.
For starters, we learn the personalities of the generals and their subordinates, and even (via illustrations) what they looked like. Some were effete, some were rough-and-ready, some were savvy, and some were plain incompetent. The attitudes of the times were on display - for example, how everyone treated each other based upon rank and status. There was brutality within the same armies; there was lack of compassion for the common folk; and there was extreme thoughtlessness to slaves (on both shores) even when they were recruited to fight against one's enemy. Modern sensibility just can't fathom many of these behaviors, making the victories (or losses) all the more unbelievable.
We all learned how bedraggled the American troops at Valley Forge were, shoeless, sometimes naked in winter, starving... but did we know that the officers feasted in warm homes at this time? Did we know that the War, which began in New England in 1775, didn't end until 1783, and at one point was waged against the British in Canada, yet ultimately won in the South, at Yorktown Virginia, having stretched the British naval might too thin for such a large territory? Were we aware how often America took loans from France to finance its struggle and to provide troops and ships against the British and their German mercenaries? Most importantly, did we know how the blunders of George Washington and his captains, and his British counterparts, time and again lost ground or failed to act to win battles and thus to cut short the terrible conflict?
Every time one side won a decisive victory, soon, it seems, they lost another one. Political machinations played a strong role, in Europe as well, as did Congress' contentious efforts to fund the war while building a nation and meeting the discordant needs of its member states. Short-sightedness, slow communications, exhausted supplies, and traitorous Loyalists all fed into the morass.
I bought the book because the word "miracle" in conjunction with "America" resonated strongly. I have long felt (and known) that America is special, and has a role to play in humankind's evolution. The fact that it was a nail-biting, hardscrabble victory requiring a massive amount of help "from above" enhances the manifestation for me. ANNUIT COEPTIS = "He hath prospered our undertaking." For good or bad now and later, the world needs America to exist. America has a sworn mission. This book just confirms how miraculous the birth truly was.

IMPOSSIBLY SLOW CLIMB... OR ROCKET RIDE?
If there had not been upset, distraction, and chaos, solutions would not have occurred, and, as they are now being arrived at, would not have been activated. For, in the course of human history, there has always been the need for great tribulation in order to birth newness.
Humanity evolves in fits and starts, not in a smooth and linear way. It is as though there are leaps from plateau to plateau. In between, there seem to be great chasms, almost ostensibly impossible to scale. But then, what occurs is not necessarily the slow, laborious climb, but a leap, a growth spurt, a sudden change. And then a new goal, a new way is seen, perhaps not at first by the many, but by the few.
Once seen, once visualized, once recognized, it can be implemented. That is what is happening as we speak in this moment in time. It is as though an unbreachable chasm has formed, and humankind shakes its collective head in despair, wondering how it will ever reach peace and joy once more.
However, instead of the metaphor of climbing unreachable heights slowly and laboriously, see instead a firecracker - rocket propulsion. When one is in a trough, if that is lit under, the ascension is dramatic and immediate. And, so will today's history move forward, at first groaningly and despairingly, but in due time with alacrity and almost unbelievable progress.
Keep hope alive even when things seem darkest, for the propulsion method is being developed... and that takes time.
