Dear friends,
As many of you will know by now, we at The BTS Center view the climate crisis as a spiritual crisis — one which challenges the core of who we are and what we believe. As we seek to move more deeply into our work of spiritual leadership for this climate-changed world, we are asking questions about our own organizational orientations and the ways in which we can more fully live into our mission of catalyzing spiritual imagination with enduring wisdom for transformative faith leadership.
We know that, for many of you, the climate crisis has raised questions of vocational discernment. In light of these questions, we are so pleased to be offering two opportunities to connect with us around spiritual direction and accompaniment over the next months. In May, we'll offer our second annual Spiritual Direction for a Climate-Changed World gathering for spiritual directors, and May will also see the launch of our first cohort of Group Spiritual Direction Circles.
Spiritual direction (or spiritual accompaniment) is a facilitated process which allows space for asking the deep questions about our purpose and vocation and encourages the practice of listening with the heart and soul. Our spiritual direction gathering will give those trained in spiritual direction the opportunity to connect with one another and to learn more about incorporating the lens of climate change into this vital work.
We are also thrilled to be offering group spiritual direction circles for the first time, specifically for those of you who are clergy and spiritual leaders. Meeting once a month with a trained director over the course of eight months, these circles will bring the climate change into the deep conversations around vocation and purpose that so many of you are having with yourselves and one another.
Please see below for more information on these new programs. And we wish you light and warmth in these early spring days.
With best wishes,
