September 22, 2026

Dear Columbus Academy Families,

This Friday, September 25, will be a spiritwear dress-down day for all students and adults on campus. All Vikings are encouraged to wear spiritwear on top with jeans, shorts or athletic pants. Extra decorations such as face paint, temporary tattoos, Viking horns, etc., are not a part of this dress-down and should be saved for All Day 4 CA in the spring.

The school day will end with the fall pep rally for grades K-12, and everyone is invited to our 44th annual Charlie David Dinner from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in the Lazarus Courtyard and dining hall (click here to purchase tickets & sponsorships). The varsity football game against archrival Bexley will kick off at 7:30, and the evening’s theme is “maroon-out.”

Charlie David Dinner shirts are ready!

If you pre-ordered a shirt, it will be available for pickup in the Viking Corner tomorrow (Wednesday, September 23) from 7:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. or during the Charlie David Dinner this Friday. Missed the pre-order? A limited quantity will be available for purchase in the Viking Corner. Get yours while they last!

School Picture Retakes on October 12

The final chance to have a school picture taken for this school year will be Monday, October 12. A photographer from Pictures with Class by Barksdale will be available in the photo studio room off the Morris Hall art gallery from 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. that day for any and all walk-ins. Parents of lower-schoolers who need retakes can either bring their children to the Morris Hall art gallery between 7:30-8:00 a.m. (if you wish to accompany them for the photo) or let their children’s teachers know in order for arrangements to be made to have those students escorted to the location at some point during the school day before the 2:00 p.m. cutoff.

If your children had their school pictures taken on August 31 or September 1 and you have not received a preview of their photo to order, please search your email’s junk/spam folder for a message titled “An important message regarding your student's school picture, Proof images for (Name) are here!” from Do_Not_Reply@barksdalephoto.com. If you still cannot find them or you have questions about ordering school pictures, email customersupport@pictureswithclass.com.
