Transfer station remains open for essential self-hauling trips
The City of Spokane Valley values the public health and safety of our citizens, customers and employees. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and Governor Inslee’s emergency proclamations, the city is currently maintaining transfer station operations at its location at 2405 N. University Road with normal operating hours, seven days a week, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the following precautions.

To help minimize coronavirus exposure, the City of Spokane Valley and Sunshine Disposal request transfer station customers who self-haul their garbage to limit trips to essential trips only for garbage that is likely to spoil or create a health hazard. By limiting non-essential trips for items such as yard debris and non-spoiling garbage (e.g., old furniture, etc.) for disposal at a later date, customers will reduce wait times as well as limit the risk of exposure to themselves and transfer station employees.

Customers should bag all garbage brought to the transfer station and be aware that there may be longer lines and wait times than normal.
