Earth Day Ward Park Clean-up

RNRA & Friends of the Parks

April 20th


Save the Date and join us on Earth Day in Ward Park. We supply the tools, gloves, and bags. It's a great way to meet your neighbors while making a difference in our beautiful neighborhood. Registration coming soon!


When: Saturday, April 20th - 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Where: A.Montgomery Ward Park 630 N. Kingsbury Street

Taste of River North will be back, July 19-21, bigger and better than ever! Three full days of music, great food, merchants, art, kids zone, and a lot of fun on Wells Street from Chicago Avenue to Ontario Street. Get ready for our 2nd Annual Dog Parade on Saturday! Wine and Spirits Tastings through the weekend!

Help Repair Ohio Place DFA Kiosk


The information board at the Ohio Place DFA was recently vandalized. RNRA is looking for a volunteer to repair or build a new kiosk. RNRA maintains the dog-friendly areas at Ohio Place and Montgomery Ward Park, and we depend on neighborhood volunteers and our generous sponsors to help us keep these important pet-owner resources available. We are looking for help producing this newsletter, serving on our Public Safety Committee, and NEW serving on our Pet Owners Committee. March CAPS Beat Meetings


CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy) meetings offer an opportunity to address crime and safety issues directly with the beat officers who patrol our neighborhood, as well as to provide ongoing feedback, which helps the police monitor crime.

Swift access to information can help law enforcement recover the vehicle. Receive two stickers for your vehicle to warn potential carjackers and auto thieves of your registration in the Cook County Sheriff's program.

Congratulations to Anti-Cruelty

Celebrating their 125th Birthday

In celebration, on March 7th they unveiled their shortened name and introduced a new logo. The new name marks the organization's evolution from a society to a movement.


42 Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly joined Anti-Cruelty President & CEO Tracy Elliott in naming the East side of Grand Avenue between Wells and LaSalle as Honorary Rose Fay Thomas Way (Anti-Cruelty Founder). Thanks to generous donors, they have saved over 350,000 lives in the last 125 years. Find out more and donate here.

18th District Invites

Easter Egg Hunt Donations


Help the 18th District collect items for the community Easter Egg Hunt. Eggs, baskets, favors, etc. can be dropped off at the 18th District lobby, 1160 N Larrabee, until March 29. For more information call 312-742-5778.

Easter Egg Hunt - March 30

April 2 - 18th District Shred Event


Shred papers and documents and recycle electronics safely with the help of R4 Services. This service is free of charge but open to 018th District residents only. Prescription Drug Drop-Off will also be available in the lobby of the 18th District station.


When: Tuesday, April 2nd from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Where: 18th District Parking Lot, 1160 N. Larrabee Street (use south entrance off Hobbie Street)
