Under the Happy Endings Hospitality Group, three new restaurants have signed on to share the same kitchen in a unique three-in-one model. Chasin’ Tails, Nue and Roll Play Vietnamese Grill. NUE Modern Vietnamese will be a full-service concept serving “exotic, intense flavors of Vietnamese cooking with French-Vietnamese culinary techniques and modern plating.” Chasin’ Tails Seafood Social will be a “group-friendly” restaurant serving Cajun-influenced seafood feasts, boils, oysters, and cocktails in a lounge atmosphere. And Roll Play Viet Street Food will offer customizable, quick-serve rolls, pho, and banh mi. The fourth, Ellie Bird, brings restaurateurs Yuan and Carey Tang to Falls Church where they began their careers at Red Lobster and Applebee's. They've earned a Michelin star for their DC restaurant Rooster & Owl and Ellie Bird will focus on casual comfort food variations of Rooster and Owl and the famous pineapple buns. This will be a family-friendly restaurant offering brunch, a kids menu, and a la carte offerings built for takeout or dine in. All four restaurants are scheduled to open in late 2022.

TINT, A Modern Makerspace, will celebrate the grand reopening of their expanded new space on Saturday, February 5th with a sale and treats for visitors. Customers are invited to check out the new materials for making and new classes 10 am - 5 pm at 417 W. Broad St., Suite 101.

The Creative Cauldron opens a “Bold New Works” premiere of Girls of Madison Street by Helen Hayes Award Winner Ivona Blake. A tight-knit family of African American sisters confront hidden truths and well-kept secrets as they come together for their mother’s funeral. Conflicts emerge, tensions flare, but they soon learn that bonds of sisterhood know no bounds. The show opens Thursday, February 10 and runs through March 6.

The Kensington continues to host the monthly Caregiver Connect group virtually with Dr. Anya Parpura, MD, PhD. This group provides a time for those who have an aging loved one to discuss common caregiver challenges. This also gives caregivers the opportunity to ask questions, meet others, and develop caregiver coping strategies. The next meeting is this Wednesday, February 2, 6:30 - 8 pm.

Learning basic academic drawing skills can be compared to learning sheet music for a musician. Providing a foundation for all kinds of painting, academic drawing makes the artist’s hand stronger and more confident. In addition to drawing skills, you will learn patience, accuracy, perseverance, and the ability to complete a concept. Classes begin this Friday, February 4.
