Sponsor Updates
NIH Inbox for Questions

The new NIH Biographical Sketch and Other Support requirements have caused an influx of questions within the research community.
NIH created a special inbox for questions related to the new templates and requirements; all questions should be submitted to nihosbiosketch@nih.gov.

While the new templates aren't required by NIH until January 25, 2022, you are encouraged to start using them for now.

University Updates
Approved Fringe Benefits

UT Austin successfully negotiated the FY22 fringe rates with DHHS. Effective September 1, 2021, the fringe rates are:

Benefits Eligible: 30.9%
Benefits Ineligible: 4.7%

The rate agreement is dated May 3, 2021 and is posted on the OSP site.
Unique Entity Identifier Update

By April 2022, the federal government will transition from DUNS Numbers to Unique Entity Identifier (UIE) in SAM.gov. The transition will make it easier and less burdensome for entities to do business with the federal government.

UT Austin's UIE is V6AFQPN18437. This number will be used in grants.gov applications. The OSP Facts for Sponsored Projects page is updated to list the new UIE.
Research Management Suite Update

Launch of the Funded Agreements portion of the Agreements module has been moved up to this summer at which time all agreements negotiated by the Contracts/Agreements team will be submitted and processed in UTRMS-Agreements.

Opportunities for training will be made available in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for the UTRMS Project Update newsletter for more details (subscribe here).
