Guidebook for Unsolicited Proposals

NASA revised the Guidebook for Proposers for the Preparation and Submission of Unsolicited Proposals as of February 4, 2021. The revised guidebook is effective as of January 15, 2021.

The document provides guidelines for the preparation of formal unsolicited proposals that will result in grants and cooperative agreements, regardless of the NASA Center or Agency program for which they are intended.

Childcare Costs for NRSA Individual Fellows

NIH issued NOT-OD-21-069 to announce they will begin providing childcare support to recipients of NRSA fellowships, on or after April 8, 2021.

The NRSA childcare costs apply to full-time NIH-NRSA-supported fellowship positions. Each fellow is eligible to receive $2500 per budget period costs for childcare provided by a licensed childcare provider.

Childcare costs are permitted for dependent children under the age of 13 living in the eligible fellow's home. Childcare costs do not apply to elder or non-child dependent care costs.

Childcare costs may be requested in new applications, RPPRs or through an administrative supplement.

RPPR Submission Delegation
Last year some units participated in an OSP coordinated pilot that delegated RPPR submission to PIs. The pilot was successful, and OSP is now ready to expand the delegation for RPPR submission across campus for PIs that work closely with Department Research Administrators.
The RPPR page on the OSP site provides guidance for obtaining the submission delegation and instructions for completing and submitting the RPPR. If you utilize this opportunity, we recommend you refer to the guidance and instructions to avoid incurring additional delays due to administrative errors.

This delegation is only available for NIH awards subject to Streamlined Noncompeting Award Process (SNAP) and is intended for PIs with departmental administrators to assist them in submission.
All RPPRs for non-SNAP awards must route to OSP for submission to NIH.
Section III – Terms and Conditions of your NIH award will indicate whether it is subject to SNAP.

Please contact your OSP Grant Specialist if you have any questions.

Continuing Education
The Office of Sponsored Projects and other research support units offer educational opportunities on campus each month. Check the OSP Calendar for free on-campus training that is applicable to
CRA re-certification. Below are training opportunities that were available last month as well as those coming up in the month ahead.
