D CEO Magazine - The Energy Awards 2023.
Land and Energy are the very cornerstones of life as we know it. They are in fact, the natural capital within the currency exchange of our very existence. It then follows that we are reliant upon those that conserve land and natural resources, to produce food, or find energy, and deliver it. For many, the air they breathe, the food they eat and the water they drink, depend entirely on the deliverance of energy.
Under all things, lies the land. Under and above the land, exists energy resources. The complex challenges of land ownership and energy production in all forms has never been more visible, more entwined, more critical, nor in fact, the inherent charge more clear.
Never has our world been so dependent on Energy and specifically upon critical, evolving, innovation within the sector. Peace, prosperity, conservation and survival of the world population relies on energy.
In Texas, Ranch and Mineral ownership, optically, have always been synonymous in the purview of the public. The realities are of course oftentimes different. That said, the wildcatters, first cowboys and cattle barons together with all the legends and legacies of the past have given way to today’s innovative stewards of land and energy after a journey through centuries.
Stewards of the land and entrepreneurs of energy must in many instances balance the same scales of use, production, diversity, conservation, and responsibility, equating to longevity. They must first be learned students of history’s accomplishments and failures, to then be responsible innovators and entrepreneurs of efficiencies today and tomorrow.
The D CEO Energy Awards in part, recognizes the very stewards, entrepreneurs, leaders, and innovators of a critical sector whom our state, our nation, and our world looks to and relies on. These folks are an exemplary cross section of equals the world over in an incredibly vital sector.
