Fall 2021 | October 25, 2021
Bi-Weekly Newsletter
Hello Honors World. We are in Week 5 of the Fall Quarter. Students should be starting to dive into your college and university applications if you are in your transfer year. Boo! Just like your Halloween costumes, don't put this off until the last second. Meet with your counselors and think about how best to craft your application, write essays and carve pumpkins. Counselors and faculty are always very helpful with reading, making suggestions and giving candy. When you meet with a counselor be sure to report the meeting (see below).

We will also be hosting an Honors Workshop Luncheon in the BSS Lounge on Monday 11/7 from 11:30 to 1:00pm. Anyone interested should be sure to come, ask questions, and be prepared to eat lunch provided by honors. Our idea is to have students and faculty mix to share where they are at in the application process, get help, and provide success tips.

Take a guess, where is that photo taken from? (answer below)
Halloween Events are many.... but the most important are Honors related.

The Honors Club is hosting a Halloween movie night on Oct 31st from 5-7pm in the BSS Lounge. Any students can come (not limited to honors students). We will be watching Coraline and there will be free popcorn, candy, and drinks.
Winter 2023 class schedule is out!

The Honors Courses being offered are on our Honors website.

We are also working hard to set up a one-year schedule of honors courses so we will all know what courses will be offered in the future. The faculty and deans from our departments are also diligently considering new courses that can be offered for our students. If you have any suggestions please do not hesitate Sam or Tracee with your ideas.

Honors Student Counseling Report Form

All Honors Institute participants are required to meet with a counselor at least once every quarter to review or develop their educational plan, as well as to discuss any personal, career or academic concerns. Counseling appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes.

After your counseling appointment, please complete the new Counseling Report Form to record your visit and help evaluate your plan towards academic, personal, and professional successes. The Honors Institute will verify your appointment at the end of each quarter. This new reporting process replaces the documentation that counselors needed to complete.

Answer: That's Royce Hall on UCLA campus, but the photo is probably taken from the steps of Powell Library which is where many undergrads spend their time studying.
