Through My Lens

June 2018

We all look at life through our own lens

What is it about sports that captures our heart, soul and mind?
We seem to live from one sporting event to the next always cheering for our favorite person or team.
This Newsletter is to acknowledge the role of sports in our lives.
It certainly distracts us from the challenges of life and allows us to be the armchair coach - if only for the day.

                                                   Until Next Time....

Sports

To hear Sue read Sports:

Sports

Sports are the opium of the people

This seems very clear to me.

We get wrapped up with our favorite team

Hoping the new champion they'll be.

Sporting events are a never ending cycle

And armchair coaches we've become.

With the new electronic devices we  have

We know how the game should be done.

January brings the Super Bowl

There is hype for so many days.

Now  basketball and golf begin

And we analyze each player's ways.

Baseball then takes center stage

Swimming and water polo too,

We're all addicted to watching these sports

And many bet on the outcome too.

Yes, sports can be a powerful drug

And to win is no small feat.

It's a great distraction from our daily lives,

As we watch each person compete.

The front page has nothing but man's failures."
