Orchard Park, N.Y. (Marcel Louis-Jacques, ESPN) -- Buffalo Bills running back Frank Gore became the NFL's third-leading career rusher Sunday, eclipsing the 15,269-yard mark set by Barry Sanders. Gore officially passed Sanders on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter of the Bills' game against the Denver Broncos. The former Miami Hurricane signed with the Bills this off season after stints in Miami and Indianapolis, but began his career in 2005 as the San Francisco 49ers' third-round pick, rushing for 608 yards in 14 games. That still stands as the fewest yards he has rushed for in a single season; Gore ran for 1,000 or more yards in nine of the following 13 seasons. (From Kenny Karst: Seen in the photo above, Gore straight-arms San Diego Chargers defensive back Eric Weddle en route to a 52-yard touchdown during the first quarter of a game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on December 20, 2014.) The Mobile Pantry was parked last week outside the Ashland Village Apartments in the Bay Area community of San Leandro and families were lined up well in advance of the start of the distribution to collect their items and meet, greet, take photos and interact with the players, who mentioned that they were happy to assist and humbled by the experience. One Warm Shirt
and Socks,

|
I have a simple request, whether you live in the Bay Area or anyplace else in our country, I want the shirt off your back and the socks off your puppies. Over the past seven years I have been lucky enough to partner with St. Anthony Foundation and NBC Sports Bay Area in growing our
One Warm Shirt Program. This year we are adding the warmth of socks to grow the program.
We are collecting as many sweatshirts, hoodies, long sleeves, t-shirts and now athletic socks as possible to donate to the San Francisco community served by the St. Anthony Foundation. You are receiving this request because you donated in the past or might donate in the future and have always exhibited the spirit of philanthropic community-focused proactivity in helping others. This note is a reminder to either set aside items before the holidays take over for a follow-up communication or send to us now.
The distribution event will be a part of a post-holiday lunch served to the recipients on a February date in 2020, TBD
Please send what you have:
* New or gently used
* All sizes
* From the bottom of your drawer, storeroom, irregular pile, gym bag, attic or basement
* Misprinted logo bin
* Events that no longer exist
* Logos or colors that are too garish for your style
You can send or drop your shirts off:

Annual Holiday Toy Drive
All collected toys distributed to Sonoma Valley kids
SONOMA, Calif. -- For the 17th consecutive year, race fans and community members can help spread holiday spirit to Sonoma Valley kids by donating toys to Sonoma Raceway's High-Powered Toy Drive.
All toys collected during the toy drive, which runs through Wednesday, Dec. 11, will be distributed to more than 300 children at the raceway's annual Race to the Holidays Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 14. All children are pre-registered for the party through one of six Sonoma Valley non-profit youth organizations. New, unwrapped gifts for newborns to 12-years-old are needed.
"
I brought my daughter to the raceway children's Christmas party when she was little and now she's in high school, so I brought my two younger sons, and they had so much fun," said Edith from Sonoma following the 2018 event. "They were excited to see Santa and are already busy playing with the toys."
Toys are accepted at the following Sonoma locations:
· Sonoma Raceway, 29355 Arnold Dr., Sonoma, 800-870-RACE, Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. www.SonomaRaceway.com
· Sonoma Valley Fire Department, 630 Second Street West, 707-996-2102, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. www.svfra.org
· Viansa Sonoma, 25200 Arnold Dr., Sonoma, CA 95476, (800) 995-4740, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. www.viansa.com
Gundlach-Bundschu Winery will again support the toy drive at its Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Attendees can sip, shop and get cozy by a fire at this special holiday event in the Vista Courtyard, and guests can also contribute new, unwrapped toys for children in need. Sports Prep Star -- John Brindley
Encinal-Alameda
- Football - Senior
After seeing his team's 21-0 lead evaporate in the span of nine minutes on Friday night, John Brindley was given the chance to still give the Jets a victory as time expired. After Encinal drove 55 yards in just under four minutes, Brindley nailed a 23-yard field goal to defeat De Anza-Richmond 24-21 and send the Jets into the North Coast Section Division V championship game.
"I just zoned everything out, took my steps and kicked the ball," Brindley said. "I wasn't sure (it'd be good) right when I kicked it. I just waited, and then I didn't know how to react after. I just ran around." Top-seed Encinal will be seeking the program's third NCS title and its first since 2008. Photo: Chace Bryson.
