Celebrating has become a habit recently and now the A's have moved to a bigger stage.
For the second straight season Oakland is headed to the MLB playoffs, having earned an AL Wild Card elimination game on Wednesday evening versus the Tampa Bay Rays at RingCentral Coliseum at
5 p.m. This will be the A's third Wild Card appearance since 2014. Last season Oakland lost 7-2 to the New York Yankees and 9-8 to the Kansas City Royals in 2014, with both games being played on the road. The A's have their sights set on their 10th World Series title in franchise history and the first since 1989.

Raiders punter A.J. Cole (left) and linebacker Marquel Lee, along with kicker Daniel Carlson, fullback Alec Ingold, tackle Kolton Miller, tight end Darren Waller and Raiderettes participated in the Raider Rusher Birthday Book Bash with 100 students from Davis Street Family Resource Center's Roosevelt Elementary School campus in San Leandro to promote literacy.

Rusher and Raiders players broke into groups to read and play literary games with the children. (Pictured above, fullback Alex Ingold.) Following the party, Raider Rusher distributed birthday gifts to the students -- three books each provided by the nonprofit First Book.

Rusher is the Raiders' Youth Ambassador who appears at activities, including PLAY 60 events, First & Goal, suite visits, Kids Zones, as well as Children's Hospital visits and Toys for Tots events. (Pictured above are kicker Daniel Carlson, (left) and tight end Darren Waller.) Last year Raider Rusher celebrated his fifth birthday by inviting students from Oakland's International Community School to attend a Fiesta at Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland.

Getting a big offensive gain early in the first quarter, Cal junior wide receiver Trevon Clark (80) finishes off a 45-yard pass play, as the University of California Golden Bears hosted the Arizona State University Sun Devils on Friday evening, Sept. 27 in PAC-12 Football at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley. No. 15-ranked Cal (4-1) suffered its first loss of the season, 24-17, in a defensive battle not decided until late in the game.

Late in the second quarter Cal quarterback Chase Garbers (7) tripped on a scramble to the sidelines and fell awkwardly, injuring his shoulder. Sports Prep Star -- Shane Moran
Cardinal Newman-Santa Rosa - Football - Junior
Shane Moran (No. 4), the Cardinals two-way standout at running back and linebacker, helped fuel a 35-point first quarter that was all he and his teammates needed in a 35-6 win over Balboa-San Francisco on Sept. 27. Moran rushed for a pair of touchdowns, one from three yards out and one from 42. He also blocked a punt in the victory. Moran is a huge factor on defense as well. He entered the game as Newman's second-leading tackler, averaging 10.5 per game. The win completed a 4-1 non-league season for the Cardinals. They'll open North Bay League-Oak Division play against rival Rancho Cotate-Rohnert Park on Oct. 4
