The 49ers Foundation hosted its Second Annual 1st and Bowl Challenge, presented by NRG, at Bowlmor Cupertino in Cupertino on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Fans and members of local Silicon Valley businesses teamed up with 49ers players, alumni and local sports celebrities to compete in a bowling tournament which raised money for Bay Area youth. The event offered complimentary food, drinks and fan gifts. Attendees also had the opportunity to take photos with all five of the franchise's Lombardi Trophies. All funds raised at the event will support the charitable programs of the 49ers Foundation. Above,

A Safe Place, an Oakland domestic violence program for battered victims and children that operates a shelter facility, recently honored the Raiders Women's Association (RWA) with their Community Champions Award during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which is October. The RWA has previously donated presents from their Holiday Gift Drive to residents of A Safe Place. Oakland Raiders -- Active in Community Events while in London
The Raiders took their community programming across the pond while spending a week in London, which culminated with a win over the Chicago Bears. On the first Monday a Raiders contingent visited the Royal Air Force Mildenhall joint unit base to meet the troops stationed there and thank them for their service. Raiders players fullback Alec Ingold, long snapper Trent Sieg, tight end Darren Waller and linebacker Kyle Wilber were joined by Alumni George Atkinson, Lincoln Kennedy, Jim Plunkett, Marcel Reece, Mark van Eeghen and members of the Raiderettes in making the first-ever visit to the base by NFL team personnel. The Raiders group toured the base, interacted and had lunch with over 4,000 enlisted officers and civilians. The RAF Mildenhall consists of units from four different major commands -- Air Combat Command, Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Mobility Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe. Above,

Later in the week Raiders Alumni coached a group of athletes, ages 11-13, through a PLAY 60 Youth Football Camp. Aspiring athletes from the NFL Academy participated both as coaches and athletes

On the final practice before the game, the Raiders hosted 35 members of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) for an exclusive experience for surviving military families at their Saturday morning walkthrough. Each of the Raiders nine position groups wore the name of a fallen hero on the back of their practice shirts. All nine heroes represented had family members in attendance and met with the players and coaches, including Head Coach Jon Gruden, after practice.
The TAPS group was also in attendance at the Raiders-Bears game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium the following day.

Ramonni Cook (right), the Wolfpack's senior middle hitter, opened October on a tear. In the team's first four matches of the month, Cook compiled 67 of her team-high 339 kills (through Oct. 10). Over that four-match stretch to open the month, Cook was averaging more than five kills per set. Cook finished one kill shy of her season-best with 21 kills in wins over both Rio Americano on Oct. 2 and Davis on Oct. 10. Cook also played a major role in the Wolfpack going 3-1 and winning the Bronze Bracket championship at the prestigious Stockton Classic. The team's lone loss at the tournament was to NorCal No. 1 Marin Catholic-Kentfield.
