Sask Para swimming trio making waves |

With dedication, record-breaking performances and podium finishes, Krystal Shaw, Shelby Newkirk and Nikita Ens are not only putting Saskatchewan on the Para swimming map but inspiring the next generation.
In 2019, Shaw earned three silvers and one bronze medal at the Parapan Am Games, while Newkirk won a silver medal in the S7 100-metre backstroke at the World Para Swimming Championships —helping her to earn her a Paralympic nomination— and Ens twice finished in the top eight at those same championships.

Concussion Priority Setting Partnership requesting study input |

The Concussion Priority Setting Partnership is conducting a study to help determine the top 10 questions that concussion researchers should answer.
Participation in the survey is for:
- A person who has had one or multiple concussions
- A family member or caregiver of a person living with a concussion
- A healthcare provider who takes care of people with a concussion
- A coach, teacher, colleague or friend of a person with a concussion
Please distribute to your membership to encourage those who fit the participant profile to complete the survey.

Saskatchewan-based Concussion Information
The Sport Medicine and Science Council of Saskatchewan (SMSCS) offers a variety of educational information sessions and consulting resources for Provincial Sport Organizations on concussions:
- Athlete Education Session - addressing knowledge of a concussion, Prevention and management, return to learn and play protocols, and instituting a culture of respect within their sport. There is an added emphasis on the importance of reporting a concussion and creating a supportive team dynamic.
- Coach/Parent/Administrator Education Session - presentation focusing on prevention, awareness, recognition, and how to create and implement concussion management protocols and plans.
- Concussion Plan Development - The SMSCS also advises all Provincial Sport Organizations to have a Concussion Management Protocol Plan. They can assist all PSGB’s with the development of their Plan.

Deadlines approaching for Adaptive Sport Club Development and Equipment Grants |

Clubs must submit their applications for the Adaptive Sport Development Grant and the Adaptive Sport Club Development Grant to their respective Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) or District by March 22.
PSOs and Districts then have until April 1 to submit the applications to Sask Sport.

SDRCC seeking Board of Directors candidates |
|
The Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada is seeking candidates to serve on its Board of Directors for three-year terms starting September and December 2021.
Board members are appointed by the Minister of Canadian Heritage. They must collectively reflect the diversity of the Canadian sport community (regional, cultural, linguistic, gender, etc.) and include at least three athletes, one coach and a board member of a National Sporting Organization and a major Games organization.
The deadline to apply is midnight (PDT) on March 31.

Humbert and Neff taking coaching careers to the next level with Canada Games opportunity |

Madeline Humbert and Marit Neff didn't get the opportunity to experience the Canada Games during their athletic careers, but they will as coaches when they attend the 2022 Canada Summer Games in Niagara, Ont. as part of Team Saskatchewan.
Humbert, who will serve as an assistant coach with the under-18 women's basketball team, and Neff, who will be a part of the athletics coaching staff, were both selected as Saskatchewan's representatives for the Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprentice Coaches program.
