Member Survey: Athlete of the Month     
Sask Sport is looking for member feedback on its Athlete of the Month program.

The survey results will help Sask Sport refine the longstanding program so that it honours the achievements and performances of Saskatchewan athletes in the best and most meaningful ways possible.

The survey will take less than five minutes to complete. Representatives from Sask Sport’s member organizations can access the survey using the link below.

KidSport's annual Give the Gift of Sport campaign is returning this holiday season. Your support will assist Saskatchewan children and youth to get off the sidelines and into the game in 2020.

Grant Opportunity:
Gender Equity in Recreational Sport 
The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) is awarding grants of up to $15,000 to initiatives that advance gender equity in recreational sport.

Municipalities and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply by the Dec. 15 deadline . Complete details about the CPRA’s Community Grants Initiative are available below.

Tianna Zimmerman of Englefeld has been named Special Olympics Canada’s Female Athlete of the Year.

Earlier this year, Zimmerman won gold in the women’s 4 x 50 m freestyle relay at the Special Olympics World summer Games in Abu Dhabi. At the same event, Zimmerman won bronze in the 800 m freestyle.

Congratulations Tianna on this outstanding achievement! 
Future Best Program 
There’s still time to nominate a qualified athlete for the Future Best Program.

Future Best is designed to assist athletes involved in an intense level of training and competition. The program assists those who have the personal goal and realistic potential to become a National Senior Team member, but who have yet to reach carded status or be named to a National Senior Team.

Application procedure:

  • Provincial Sport Organizations are responsible for nominating athletes who meet the criteria through Sask Sport’s online funding portal.
  • Athletes must fill out the online application and the PSO provide approval by the Dec. 1 deadline.
  • The Future Best and Awards Committee will review applications and Sask Sport will notify athlete and PSO of the results.

The deadline for applications is Dec. 1 .
