The Coaching Association of Canada is offering monthly webinars from October 2020 to March 2021 that are designed to be pertinent and useful in developing skills for coaches as they navigate a return to sport.

This month's webinar, Return to Modified Training in the Absence of Competition, will be held on Nov. 18 at 12:30 p.m. (Sask time).

Call for concepts for the Innovation Initiative
Does your organization have an interest in testing new ways of working in sport?

Through the Innovation Initiative, Sport Canada is looking for those ideas and groups that are committed to monitoring and measuring results, have an interest in collaborating with researchers and evaluators and are willing to share the stories nationwide to improve sport participation experiences for all Canadians.

The deadline for concept submissions is Nov. 20.
Fast and Female Virtual Summit 2020
The Fast and Female summit is back for its seventh year and this time it's going virtual.

Spread over six weeks, there will be six sessions open to girls aged 8-18, as well as a seminar for parents, coaches and allies. The 1.5 to 2-hour sessions will run every Thursday from Dec.1-17 beginning at 5 p.m. (Sask time).
WADA releases 2021 prohibited list
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has published the 2021 prohibited list, which will come into effect on Jan. 1, 2021. A summary of the major modifications can be found here.

Additionally, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) has presented the final 2021 Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP) to the sport community, which will also come into effect on Jan. 1 to ensure the program's ongoing compliance with WADA code.

Provincial Sport Organizations, coaches, team staff and athletes are encouraged to review all documents to make sure they understand the anti-doping policies.
Concussion education session
Coaches, athletes and caregivers in the Prairie Central District are encouraged to learn more about concussions, including how to identify and manage them, in a free one-hour educational session facilitated by Trevor Len, athletic therapist for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The session will be conducted virtually over the Zoom platform on Nov. 10 with two time slots available: 12 p.m. or 7 p.m.

New dates set for Canada Summer Games
The Canada Summer Games have announced the new dates of competition following the event's postponement from 2021 to 2022.

From Aug. 6-21, Saskatchewan athletes will travel to Niagara, Ont., where they will compete in 20 different sports against representatives from across Canada.
