Office of Emergency Management
|
|
|
The UNC Charlotte Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is an office within the Department of Safety and Security. OEM is responsible for coordinating efforts relating to the four phases of emergency management: mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. OEM assists the UNC Charlotte community in preparing for, responding to and recovering from any type of emergency that could negatively impact the institution.
OEM manages the development of all Institutional emergency plans including:
● The campus Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) which includes:
-
Severe weather
-
Campus evacuation
-
Mass care and sheltering
-
Pandemic outbreaks
● The Business Continuity Base Plan
● Departmental Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP)
● Institution’s Emergency Alert System “NinerAlerts”
|
|
● Our top priority is the health and wellbeing of our campus community. We will make decisions grounded in facts and informed by the guidance of public health experts.
● We are redefining the “new norm” for successful campus life, at least temporarily. We do this knowing the actions we take today will secure a stronger, more vibrant tomorrow for our Niner Nation community.
● Every student and employee is a part of the larger "WE" that makes up NIner Nation. What affects one of us, affects us all.
It is important to note that information about the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to expand and evolve over time.
|
|
As it does, guidance from the University will likely change, too. We will continue to follow the directives of the UNC System and public health officials to ensure we are taking all steps necessary to help protect the health of Niner Nation, and will keep our community updated through Niner Notices and updates at: emergency.uncc.edu/coronavirus.
Niner Nation Cares houses the COVID-19 dashboard, recorded Town Hall sessions and vaccine information.
