Dear CRC,
My son recently participated in his school's musical production, Guys and Dolls. (He had four lines, and we were very proud.) On opening night, there was a glitch in the sound, and while the main characters were clearly speaking (i.e. we saw their mouths moving), we were hearing voices coming from behind the stage. The sound crew had turned on the wrong mics for the scene! It was quickly remedied, and the show was fabulous.
We often don't think about all the work going on behind the scenes until something goes wrong. This month, I want to take a moment to recognize just some of the roles that CRC volunteers play that might often go unnoticed.
Imagine what could happen if our nearly 1,100 volunteers suddenly had to pause—our ability to distribute food, raise funds, and keep our resale stores running smoothly might face challenges. However, with our amazing team, we're confident that we will never see that - and continue making a positive impact.
Take a look with me over this past month and the many ways volunteers keep us going each and every day. We are grateful!
