What is the mission of your organization, and what need does it address?
Disability:IN is the leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide. Together with the world’s leading companies, Disability:IN drives progress through initiatives, tools, and expertise that deliver long-term business impact.
How has your organization grown or evolved since it was established?
Disability:IN was started as the US Business Leadership network over 20 years ago. Today, our organization has grown to partner with companies across the globe to advance disability inclusion in business.
What impact has your organization had on the communities or groups you serve?
One of the initiatives that has been very important has been our work in supporting disabled entrepreneurs, many of whom are also veterans, through business development programs and facilitating connections to large corporate purchasers. This year, we have 1,000 Disability-Owned Business Enterprises, or DOBEs, collectively have a 5-billion-dollar impact on the economy and create 21,000 jobs, many of which are great jobs for other disabled people.
