American Friends of Lafayette

Yorktown Day

Yorktown Day commemorates the decisive victory of American and French forces over the British in the 1781 Battle of Yorktown, a pivotal event in the American Revolutionary War.

The American Friends of Lafayette, an organization dedicated to preserving the history of the American Revolution and the relationship between the United States and France, played a significant role in celebrating Yorktown Day. They provided financial support and actively participated in organizing commemorative events, parades, and educational activities to honor the alliance between the United States and France in the fight for independence. Their commitment strengthens the historical legacy of Yorktown Day and promotes transatlantic friendship.

J-1 Exchange Visitor program

The French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) has been granted authority by the United States Department of State to sponsor foreign young professionals on a J-1 visa valid for training for up to 18 months. Our program, in partnership with our New York Chapter, allows these candidates to be admitted to the United States under the status of "Exchange Visitor-Trainee/Intern" for full-time, paid, practical training programs. This program is not to be used for employment purposes, may not displace an American worker, and the participant must leave the United States at the end of the program.

We are dedicated to preparing international young professionals for global careers.

What makes us stand out?

We have industry leading processing times. It takes us 6-8 weeks from the anticipated start of the program to the issuance of the DS-2019. We also have a digital application platform to ensure compliance.

We are the only J-1 Visa sponsor dedicated to the French-American Business Community. Furthermore, we have very strong relationships with the U.S and French government officials. Lastly, we check in on our Exchange Visitors and our host company members! We organize cultural events and ensure that they are satisfied with their experience here in the U.S!
