Thank you for your patience and flexibility.

Serra Website Tells Stories of Strength, Support

In an effort to bring optimism, strength and joy to our Serra community during these unprecedented times, we have created a website page to share heartwarming stories and random acts of kindness that surround us all. We hope to bring a smile to your face as we all unite together in this crisis. Please upload pictures and tell us your story.

We are also hoping to support our Serra community businesses who might be struggling during the Shelter in Place. Please see our website for more information or to add a business to our growing list.
April 25 Senior Fashion Show Postponed

In light of the recent events surrounding the Coronavirus and Serra High School not reopening until May 4, we were forced to make the unfortunate decision to reschedule the Fashion Show/Senior Mother-Son Walk that was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 25.
We understand what a special and traditional event this is for our seniors and their moms, and our community altogether. We will do everything in our power to reschedule this event in some form. We thank you for your patience and flexibility as we attempt to create new memories for our boys and their families during these uncertain times.
We hope that you and your family continue to be safe and we look forward to a time where we can all celebrate again soon.
Extended Deadline for Outstanding Student Award

The deadline has been extended to April 7 for students to apply for the Outstanding Student Award! Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to apply if they have a cumulative 3.5 GPA (unweighted) or 3.7 (weighted) and  have participated in three or more extra curricular activities from at least two different departments. Students must also  have a good disciplinary record

Please complete the Outstanding Student Application by Friday, April 7, 2020 by 2:30 p.m.  so that the Student Services Personnel can make selections. Students must apply using their email address.
Christian Service Opportunities from a Distance

We encourage students to continue to find creative and thoughtful ways to serve the community from your home. Here are some ideas on how to serve from a distance:
  • Write letters to residents in retirement or care facilities who are lonely. Email Ms. Cahill for a list.
  • Mobile Serve has a list of virtual volunteer opportunities HERE.
  • X2Vol has a list of virtual volunteer opportunities HERE.
All Serra students will be getting a pass in service no matter how many hours they have completed.
Attendance Policy in Effect During Closure

Please remember to call your son in if he is sick and will be unable to attend remote classes on a particular day.  All absences must be communicated by 7:30 a.m.

Please email or call 650-345-8207.  Voicemails will be retrieved. Unless excused, all students are expected to complete all activities and assignments that are designed for each day a particular class is in session and by the deadline established by each teacher.
Fund A Dream Fundraiser Still Open for Donors

Thank you to all of our supporters who saw the imminent need to raise funds for our tuition assistance program through Fund a Dream. Even though we had to cancel our actual gathering, the community came together to support this important mission.

Fund a Dream is more than a social event, it is a fundraiser dedicated solely to tuition assistance for Padres who would like to attend Serra but do not have the money to do so. Over the course of 15 years, the Serra community has raised $5 million in this effort. To date, this year, we have collectively raised nearly $375,000.

We are so grateful for your generosity, especially during these times of economic uncertainty.  This challenging situation only underscores our need to continue to provide this opportunity for future and current Padres.

We believe the need is now more than ever. We need to support the young men who aspire to be formed in a community of faith who will go forward to make a difference in the world - Now more than ever.

We are deeply grateful for your support - Now more than ever!
