NEWS AND EVENTS
No Camps or Summer School Offered on Serra Campus this Summer
With the uncertainty surrounding the shelter in place and social distancing, we were reluctant to make any firm announcement regarding our plans for Summer at Serra. After much deliberation and consultation, we have determined that we will not host any programs at Serra High School this summer.
Our goal is to keep our campers, students and the entire community as safe as possible and we feel that hosting these programs this summer could compromise this effort.

Please see the list below for the exact programs that are impacted:
  • Geometry and Geometry Honors for Advancement will be offered virtually through Serra High School. Registration information is available on our website.
  • High School Remediation courses will not be offered. Students needing to remediate courses will need to enroll in courses through one of two approved online providers: APEX Learning or Florida Virtual School. All remediation courses will need to be verified by both Mrs. Lee and the student's counselor.
  • Freshmen Bridge Program will be offered virtually for the class of 2024. Registration information is available on our website. A tech orientation will need to be completed by June 22.
  • Sports and Rec Camp will not be offered.
  • Swim School will not be offered.
  • Middle School will not be offered.
  • Musical Theatre Conservatory will not be offered.
  • Peninsula Wrestling Club and Next Level Sports will not be using the Serra campus.

Every registered family will be given a full refund and there will be no cancelation fees.
We regret the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding of these unprecedented circumstances. If you have specific questions, please contact  Mr. Miguel Martinez , director of Serra Summer Programs.
Class of 2020
Senior Padre Profile Page is live!

We invite you to visit the Class of 2020 Senior Padre Profile Page. We are excited to showcase these students and the incredible achievements, memories and special experiences they have had here at Serra.

We are asking all members of the Class of 2020 to complete our senior profile form and answer a brief series of questions. The student's senior portrait will serve as the thumbnail to his profile.

Each one of our seniors has made their mark here at Serra and we are eager to showcase our phenomenal Padres!

It would be very special to have participation from the entire Class of 2020, so have your senior complete the form below.

* Please note that we are updating our profiles each day and will be sharing each student via our social media channels so that every student is individually recognized. If your son has already submitted a form and you do not see his profile, please continue to check our site, as we are updating it daily.
Interested in Hosting an International Student?

A quality international program is one that places our international students in the homes of Serra families, where the young men will have the support and warmth that only a family environment can provide.

Through our Homestay Program, both the international student and the Serra family will embark on an unparalleled, enriching experience–one that will create relationships that will last a lifetime.

Host families will encourage the continued use of English skills, provide academic and social guidance, and generally support the student as he is immersed into the American culture.

International students will be provided with all meals and a bedroom in the family home. The host family will receive an annual stipend, which is covered in the cost of tuition.
Service From a Distance: Sophomore Organizes St. Vincent de Paul Food Drive
Sophomore Matthew Kamienski is organizing a non-perishable food drive to benefit St. Vincent de Paul at St. Matthew's Church in San Mateo. Matthew has been volunteering with the service organization for more than two years. The pandemic has increased the amount of families who need assistance, and many agencies are facing shortages, including St. Vincent de Paul. Families who are able to contribute some non-perishable food should do so by signing up through the form below. Matthew will do a porch pick-up.
Amazon Smile, e-Scrip Offers Additional Support for Serra

AmazonSmile and e-Scrip are two simple ways for you to support Serra every time you shop, at no cost to you.

When you shop at  smile.amazon.com , you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added benefit that Amazon will donate .5 percent of your eligible purchases to Serra.

On your first visit to smile.amazon.com , you need to select a charitable organization, Junipero Serra High School, to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. They will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at  smile.amazon.com  will result in a donation. AmazonSmile will occasionally contact you about donation amounts disbursed to your chosen charity or about the program.

E-Scrip is another opportunity for our community to give back. E-Scrip is the best way to raise funds for Serra. After you have signed up, the earning is easy -- just shop at thousands of e-Scrip merchants, grocers and drug stores in your town.

Catholic Relief Services Collection

Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl is accepting monetary donations to help the organization continue to support its international work.

Let us find hope in the work that Catholic Relief Services is doing to provide relief around the world during this crisis, particularly in communities that have little to no means to protect and care for their people.

We ask you to prayerfully consider if your family might be able to share a few resources. In these difficult times we hesitate to ask for any monetary donations, yet there is critical need in this global pandemic.

All Rice Bowl donations are tracked by zip code and 25 percent of every donation comes back to our archdiocese for local hunger programs.

Please contact Ms. Christian Cahill with any questions.
