Spotlight on Success: May 8, 2020
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
___________________________

On behalf of the Foundation's Board of Trustees and Staff, we send a heartfelt thank you to our teachers. Your ability to motivate and inspire students, fuel innovation, and to adapt to our current reality is remarkable!

We continually strive to provide our teachers with the tools and resources to deliver the best in education that our students deserve. This past week, we were so excited to launch a pilot program called Ask the Expert, which is a help desk staffed by the ISD tech team and 40 qualified volunteers. Ask the Expert assists teachers with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.

Our teachers are the best, thank you for all you do!

Kindness and Gratitude

The COVID-19 health crisis has certainly impacted our everyday lives. The silver lining to the stay at home order is that our families are spending a lot more time together, providing parents an opportunity to spend quality time teaching kids important things such as expressing thanks and sharing gratitude.

I received a surprise visit from these Newcastle children who have been practicing social distancing and finding ways to express thanks and to bring hope for brighter days. They left flowers and a thank you note on my front porch! Little acts of kindness go a long way! This is why we do the things we do!

"Thank you Lexi, Vivian, and Grace for making my day and for being an inspiration to helping me lead the Foundation!" -- Cornell Atwater

The Issaquah School District understands that not all families are in the same situation. In this issue, we are sharing some ideas you could use if your student is having challenges with remote learning.
