Give a gift…to the community
Despite all the challenges of this year, Concord Community Music School remains committed to being a home for every musician—regardless of financial circumstance, age, background, or ability—with an outstanding faculty dedicated to excellence and inclusion. Our mission is to be barrier-free, so that all may participate. Generous donors and funders make this possible through their gifts, by supporting a mission that delivers $200,000 annually in financial aid to families and community partnership organizations that serve those in need. Here are just a few expressions of gratitude from the hundreds of individuals benefiting from these gifts:
“Our little guy is a foster child who came from a traumatic background. At almost 3 years old, he was nonverbal when he arrived in our home in May. We saw small gains as he spent the summer with us, but really saw his language skills begin to blossom when we enrolled him in Expressive Therapy with CCMS this fall. He also had issues expressing when he was upset…but we have seen those behaviors all but disappear and I know it is in part thanks to Ms. Heather.”
“We are so grateful for the financial support my son received for his music therapy. We will always think of his music therapist Matt and your school as being there for him on his journey to recovery. I read a quote that said, ‘Humankind, be both!’ I feel that you truly are.”

“Deeply committed to her mission to support the children and families through music, Heather created virtual musical experiences, with videos that families could access in their homes. Over the past eight months, Heather’s videos have been a positive, engaging opportunity for young children to continue to enjoy music and movement in meaningful ways. Nearly fifty families, primarily New Americans, participated in a variety of Family Center activities, including Heather’s videos.” – Laurie Hart, Concord School District Early Childhood Coordinator
How are these gifts delivered?
Your gift makes possible the “Good Work” of our faculty and staff, who then enable community partner organizations and families to benefit from the healing and joyful process of making music. In their book entitled Good Work, educational psychologists Howard Gardner and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi define it as “work that is both excellent in quality and socially responsible—at a time of constant change.”
